OMSI2 models the retarder brilliant. It’s either direct or indirect. In other words, when going down hill it will automatically kick in (indirect) likewise when thundering along the road trying to catch up with the timetable, as soon as you let off the throttle there’s instant ‘drag’ applied which allows for a more natural engine braking - instead of having to stand on the brake pedal approaching stops and you mistime it due to stutter/lag. Btw, it’s better in Tourist Bus as it has loads of hills!

They are ment to be used when your up to speed not from a starting point so bus 21 might be more accurate. If you have a heavy load and are approaching a steep downward hill you would flick it on to help you maintain a safe speed and keep control of your vehicle. I drive hgv which is much the same as a bus.

Having a few issues with the game, twice now after completing a route it has not registered that I've unlocked the stops and I can't make a new route, the only option is to return to main menu or load game, both of which lose progress. This has happened twice out of the five routes I've driven so far. Extremely frustrating cos I'm enjoying the game otherwise. Hopefully the graphical glitches and extreme frame issues will be patched or improved, but I wish they'd make the menus easier to use and have some sort of tutorial.

Omg thats terrible, I might have a few workarounds for you you can try. I will try and do a vid for you today 👍 Yeah its good when its good but we do need those patches ASAP
