If I ever try the escape boards, that’ll be the type I use. Seems like the guys I’ve seen that use that type have a bit better success over the triangles.

Yea I like this type much more room to get out when I seen how they worked with ian s hives I liked it

I use the triangular escapes at times. When I do use them I always put a new super under the escape to give the bee somewhere to go. I never thought of looking on ebay for the cones. I ordered some and will make a few of this style to see what works better.

I bought mine cones from Walter T. Kelly in Clarkson, Kentucky. I bought 30 of them so I can make 3 escapes. They were pretty cheap.

Thanks Vince, I started making a bee escape today. Wasn't sure what to make it out of or how to attach the funnels. Home Depot sells a 1 x 3 board that works pretty good and is cheaper than the 1 x 4's. I was thinking about using a 5/16" or 3/8" staple as well as using some gorilla glue. Even a 5/8" nail would probably hold it in place. I like the idea of using the aluminum screen wire instead of #8 hardware clothe. I was thinking about attaching a 3/8" x 3/8" or 1/2" x 1/2" nailer on the inside boards an 1/8" below the frame pieces to attach the screen to, so I wouldn't have to use a hive tool on a weaker piece of wood when you pry the box off. I understand your frustration about the computer hard drive crashing. I hate it when that happens. Again Thanks.
