Looking for an upgrade as I need new pads. I think I’m gonna purchase some DS Performance pads. It’s street use 99% of the time and spirited driving. I want goo feel and good braking performance but without warming up times nor horrible sounds. But I’m confused between the DS performance and the DS2500 🤯🤔 could you help? I run the stock discs Thanks guys!

Hi, thank you for the video. I would like ferodo brake pad for street and occasional track use. Mainly street use. Which brake pad is the most recommended?

For the street, autoX, etc. the DS2500 is the ticket. What car would they be going on? The DS2500 is good for something like a Miata, BRZ, etc. on the track, but not good for faster, heavier cars such as a Corvette, 911, Mustang, etc. As a rule of thumb, anything over 3,000 lbs. and 300 HP should really be looking at the DS1.11 or DSUNO compounds for track use. The DS2500 can sometimes be used on the rear of some of the bigger, faster cars, but not a good idea on the front. We had a C7 Z06 customer with one of our big brake kits accidentally leave the DS2500 in on the front and rear when he ran VIR. While the DS2500 didn't fade on the front, they did burn up very quickly. Again though, that was in our brake kit, which tends to run much cooler than an OEM setup. The Ferodo DS1.11 or DSUNO is going to give you a lot longer wear and pretty much total protection against fade. In summary, there is no perfect, do-everything street/track pad. There are going to be compromises, since each type of pad is designed specifically for a particular usage environment. Hopefully that helps!

Essex Parts Services, Inc. Interesting video. I wanted to put in ferodo on my 2011 mazda 3 s sport. Very light track use, mostly road use. It is over 3,000 pounds and runs 200 hp at the moment. What would you recommend for a long lasting but also can handle a heavier car for road use?

Hi Hector, I believe you're talking about the DS2500 compound, which is often called their High Performance compound. You can find lots of information on our website about the Ferodo DS2500. Thanks, and always feel free to contact us with any questions! www.essexparts.com/brake-pads/ferodo-brake-pads
