had the same thought but no. rollbacks happen due to inconsistencies during the launch. if it gets over the first top hat it will have enough potential energy for the rest of the layout, just like any other coaster that has more than one hill
@jonathondurst59803 жыл бұрын
@@Blasulz1234 that is not accounting for inconsistencies like a head on wind at the second tophat. With a coaster of this scale a valley would mean disassembling and reassembling the train and with all the malfunctions these types of coasters currently have, adding another probably just isn't viable.
@Blasulz12343 жыл бұрын
@@jonathondurst5980 if it'd actually crawl over the second top hat like in the vid then you're probably right. but in any other case a bit of wind has never valleyed a correctly operated coaster with more than one ascend. if a ride would be prone to that, no engineer in their right mind would not install some workaround. If you do sth for an infinite amount of time, the most unlikely scenario possible will happen guaranteed

Great concept, presentation and landscaping. Most of the supports looked spot on, too. I have some constructive critique and advice if you'd appreciate it: _The presentation and setup for the launch was very properly done, but the final brake run was not. You can make a more realistic FBR by using more realistic stopping forces for permanent magnet brakes, and instead of using the brake to slow it down, use the transport settings to do it by making the deceleration your brake g force, and set a deceleration of say 1.5-2.25mph so that once the train finally slows down, it crawls through the negatively pitched brakes at a constant rate like they do in real examples. _Some of the low down structures seem to be prefabs inappropriate for the ride. _Your pull-in to the trim hill/twist-and-dive snapped a bit as the radius didn't seem constant, and some of your roll rates felt either too sudden or inconsistent. Nothing poor or anything, but not as polished as the rest of the project. *the following is hyper critical, realism critique--feel free to ignore, lol* _Due to the execution, I have a bit of a nit pick with the 2nd tophat. If we're being super critical and designing for all conditions and scenarios as we do for real projects, we have to worry a bit about the ride valleying. If the ride was designed so that we barely made it over the 1st tophat, and moved a bit faster through the 2nd, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. But, because we're in the opposite scenario, it would need revision to get green-lit as a safe project plan. In the event that the weather was poor, wind buffeting, a launch was underpowered, but fast enough to get over the 1st top hat, its extremely likely to valley by the 2nd one. Overall, nice work! I'd love to experience a super coaster like this, or even an accelerator of current stature in this form factor. RIP Hydraulics :.(

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I really do appreciate it! Never thought of slowing the train with he transport devic but makes a lot of sense now, I will definetely use that for future projects. You are right with the inconsistent radius of the trims before the dive loop, It used to be better but used 'insert vertices' way too much messing up the shape and was too lazy to fix it lol And as for the last thing about the second top hat, I totally agree that it would be horrible irl (just look at the mr freeze clones at six flags parks) so if it was irl I think it would have a big drawn out turn instead of a top hat but I liked the idea of adding some spice to it, it's NoLimits after all! Overall this was a very very messy project to work with and didn't put too much effort on the trackwork, again thanks for the feedback, I'll consider it for my future creations!
@KadskeDesign3 жыл бұрын
@@plasmarc8891 I figured with it being a 542ft tall coastie it was more of a fantasy project anyway lol, but I figured I'd drop some irl plausibility conversation in. It'd be amazing if you had put in a wall-air-hill in its place, like steel vengeance's near the end of that ride, but scaled waaaay up and exaggerated shaping. Yeah for FBRs, I've been using them as actual transport sections, then adding in a tiny brake section with a block trigger and a tire or pad brake to have it actually work like a real braking setup. It translates well into NL! Anyway, keep it up, i like your build style :)

@@KadskeDesign I think you mean the wave turn right? that element that does a little airtime hill but rotated 90 degrees, there is actually one of those here! on the 2nd top hat where it twists out it has the shape of a wave turn, it's just not too noticeable
@KadskeDesign3 жыл бұрын
@@plasmarc8891 lol, not exactly what I was thinking of. It's the element through the supports before the final roll I believe. It ramps up like an overbank turn, pauses rolling, induces negative g, then resumes rolling the opposite direction and completes the maneuver.

Realistically this is impossible, the reason basically all launched coaster have a top hat then nothing else is because the power of a launch isn’t reliable. The train might not have enough power to complete the layout if this was made, on other coaster it either lols back to the launch track for another launch or doesn’t rollback and reaches the break-run. No matter where they stall the trains don’t get stuck. On this coaster if the train stalled midway through it wouldn’t roll all the way back to the launch track and would be stuck on the track.
