Maybe it's just me, I find the revv matching on downshifts a bit awkward. I suppose it's an older machine and the drive style is significantly different. Wonderful driving anyhow :)

In reality this car had semi-automatic upshifts, but on the downshifts you had to manually rev the engine a bit when you were going down the gears to compensate the loss of RPM

It sounds like whenever he's downshifting (rev-matching) he's always hitting some sort of rev limiter? Like 4:28.

Daniel Mirzotti When down shifting you must do the toe/heel technic. Was the first time in the car, so this part still needs some improvement and fine tuning. Revving when downshifting is important not to destrot the gearbox

Martin Lanting I understand what heel-and-toe and rev-match is (I do it in my cars along with double clutching). My question is more about the rev-limited he keeps hitting, every time he downshifted, he always hit a certain RPM. Is it a rev limiter to protect the engine? And he added too much gas and HIT the limiter because he's not quite accustomed to the car yet?

And it's especially weird because the rev-limited isn't the redline of the engine, so it's like there's a separate function for the rev limiter when downshifting so you don't over-rev the engine

Steve Bergen That's what I thought too, I guess there are "two" redlines for this motor. One normal redline, and one redline for downshifting so you don't over-rev then engage the clutch.

I thought the F333 has sequential shifting, with no need of clutching. Also I thought the F333 has only 5 gears. Am I wrong or are there different types of gearboxes/shifting in different F333s?

Sequential gearboxes require the use of the clutch in certain situations, mostly on downshifts. On more modern units, the onboard computer cuts spark on upshifts and blips the throttle on downshifts - along with actuating the clutch when needed - to assist. In these days, however, all of that was still directly under driver control.
