What strange times we live in, the 488 used to be criticised for being quiet. Well guess what, it’s actually louder than the sport cars built in 2020

This was a good video, simple but I like it that he had the camera pointed out into the street and we could get an idea of what the performance was like for this Ferrari instead of other videos where the host has the camera constantly on himself and he talks about going fast but you can't see the speed because the camera is focused only on the driver. Here, you hear the car and see the streets and you can get a idea of how fast the car is going and how satisfying it would be to drive a car like this.

+Cars with Luke Best review of the 488gtb by far, i wish magazines made these type of in car videos. Sometimes less is more, we don´t need al the fancy production stuff. I think the standard wheels look better, it reminds me of the 458 italia. I was fortunate to go to Maranello in May and drive the 458 speciale through the mountains and it was insane, the sound, the accelaration, the grip from the pilot sport cup 2´s was incredible. Keep the vids coming.

+martin q Hey Martin, Thanks for the kind comment. Yeah I like to film just pure sound and feeling in high quality so that whoever watches can try to have a real feeling of what its like to be inside driving. I thought about trying to do more in depth reviews with some of the cars I get to drive but i'm terrible at speaking to the camera so that might be some time before I have the courage to do that. Thats great you got to drive the Speciale on some mountain roads, nothing beats that feeling really, on one of my other videos I drove Speciale as well in the Black Forest, incredible car. in 2 weeks I will have the McLaren 650s or again the Huracan to make a video with but I haven't decided which one yet.

+Cars with Luke the sound is a bit disappointing, I think. It's not because of regulations btw, but because of the turbochargers. Turbochargers in general act as silencers in the exhausts and it is pretty difficult to let a turbocharged engine sound as good as a normally aspirated engine where you don't have a turbine in the exhaust, swallowing a lot of sound...Should you ever come back to Austria, you can do a review on my R8 LMX ;)

+Serch An Ha yeah the thing is it is just from the rubbish GoPro built in microphone. I learnt this only works because if you place it right next to the exhaust, its so loud that it seem be OK. Otherwise the GoPro microphone is useless for recording.

Good Review - i like the sound, its bearable if you know what i mean? Can floor it and get some good notes out of it whenever you want. I like the f12 sound so much but I like the turbo whistle too - sounds refined. Subscribing too btw ;)

Maybe on my next video I will try more in depth reviews. I never tried the sound system, in all the supercars I have driven iv'e actually never even turned turned one on.

What a GORGEOUS work of art!! My God, the sound of a Ferrari alone is SO friggin unique!! That mountain pass has some curves with no guardrails, and here's where I commend you for not driving this masterpiece like an a**hole doing drifts and shit. I have a 458 so I am biased but a NA V-8 with a 9,000 red line is more thrilling than any turbo boost. When the shift lights light up you are in nirvana. That mountain pass drive seemed to be between 4,000 and 6,000 which sounds like lugging to me. All the great stuff comes on at over 7,000 RPM.

+douglas semonche Yes I do agree with you, it did feel like it should go higher, I love the front and back of the 488 looks wise compared the 458 but I did still prefer driving the 458, not to mention the sound as well

+Unai Caballero Thanks and yes I know believe me I wanted to drive faster but I can assure you I didn't drive fast for some good reasons, biggest was I was given this 488 on some very strict conditions, basically drive it normally or not at all and second I was warned of a speed trap there that evening, not to mention it is a public road at the end of the day. Sounds pretty damn good, not quite as good as a 458 but all that extra torque and speed makes up for it. And then some. A better driver's car for sure. Also, nobody really complains about the F40 and 288GTO. Other turbo F-cars.
