They all have other jobs on the F1 team too. As long as you are not requiered to do sth during the race you can also become a member of the pit crew. For example if you are a truck driver for the ferrari team driving their material from one raceway to another you can possibly become a tire changer too. Since you otherwise have not a lot to do over a raceweekend and therefore have plenty of time for extensive pit stop practice runs. You perhaps have to have mechanical knowledge non the less, like former experience as a car mechanic and maybe car racing practice.

Although I'm old school, and with 21 guys over the wall and in pit lane it does seem like overkill compared to the good old days of Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark, and Juan Fangio when they had maybe five or six guys over the wall to change tires and fuel the vehicle, while another person back behind the wall used to give the driver a cup of something to drink by passing it out to him on the end of a stick - and they still got it done in less than 30 seconds.

The bottom left wheel changer was late. 0:37 he's the only 1 left touching the car. The guy at the front pulled away before one of the wheel changers, that can't be good. Almost a major screw up.

Aditya Verma The car gets lifted on a really thin area and is really unbalanced because of the jacks, and the way they put and thighten the tyres would wobble the car all over, also they dont only hold it but most of the times they might as well take tyre/other junk from the radiators

I watched this like 50 times to try and see what each guy was doing, but I'm stumped. What exactly are the two guys on either side of the front wing doing when they stick their hand under there and what is that guy in the bottom left with the weird machine who nonchalantly walks up, sticks his stick on the ground then wanders off doing? On a side note, I feel bad for the spare rear jack guy. I bet everyone hates him. "Fucking spare jack guy...standing back there like a tool while were all being awesome."

The two guys at the front are adjusting the front wing angle, and the guy at the bottom left with a "stick" that does nothing is the man that has to start the car if the driver stalls it. F1 cars don't have an ignition in the cockpit like road cars, he puts the stick in a little hole under the rear wing and it turns over the engine. The speed is amazing.
