Approximate cost difference between the two options?

I have two options because I will buy a Yamaha desert bike. There is a regular valve and there is a titanium valve. Which is better, more durable and more practical?

Your best option is stainless steel for longevity.

I’m looking to have a set of custom cut titanium valves for a 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. Aiming for but not 100% on head diameter size but am certain to have 45 degree cut valve angles. Specs are as follows: Intake Valves - Head Diameter 1.875”, Stem Diameter .3122”, Length 5.805” Valve Angle 45 degrees, Stem Type 1 Grove. Exhaust Valves - Head Diameter 1.875”, Stem Diameter .3122”, Length 5.799”, Valve Angle 45 degrees, Stem Type 1 Grove. 16 Valves total 8 IN, 8 EX. Other than Head Diameter and Seat Angle, Stock Ford specs are what I am referencing. Can you please leave me a ball park estimate in a reply?

Curious as to whether your Ti valves are OK for the exhaust side, as it seems you're showing an intake valve, based on head diameter?
@FerreaRacingComponents6 жыл бұрын
Titanium on the exhaust side can be used when the environment is ideal for it. For example on a street engine you will get very little life. On a race engine using race gas or methanol in a drag racing application you could get about 1 year before you need to replace them. All this depends on the use and application.

Thanks for that speedy reply. Always nice to know your do's and don'ts when considering valve train options. Looks like your hollow stem steel alloy valves would be the best option for my LS1 street build.

Our pleasure. Great choice on hollow stem stainless for the LS1 build.

@FerreaRacingComponents what actually happens to titanium valves when they wear? Do they stretch? Or shatter? Can they take a maximum of 850C 1560F on E85? I have a street engine with them, was curious to know why they aren't suitable if you can help!

Ferrea Racing Components differences in titanium valves intake and titanium valve exhaust ??? Thank’s sir

@@stavollfamfamilyracing717 titanium valves allow your engine to achieve higher rpm in combination with titanium valve springs (not actually titanium. Steel springs that are much stronger.) Titanium is slightly softer than steel thus offer better sealing capabilities in boosted engines. titanium conducts heat poorly and you can get cooler cylinder head temps. Titanium in boosted engines. Sodium in natural engines.

is hollow stem titanium available?
@FerreaRacingComponents Жыл бұрын
Yes, they are custom-made.

Does the titanium valves give you more hp and how about titanium rods
