Missus was still new to ferreting here, I’ve been ferreting off’n’on since I was about 10 & in my 40’s now, was hard to get her not to creep forward haha. She was atleast not in direct line with burrow entrances and wind was blowing across warren towards me. Thanks for the advice but. Been a long time watcher of your channel.

I'm not familiar with using ferrets this way. Do you ever lose them underground or do they always come back out? Are the rabbit boroughs interconnected? Ferrets are so much fun and I'm sure they love getting in there. Thanks for posting!

Barry Ewing our first litter will become available in around 5 weeks time. And subsequent weeks I'll see other become available as they're weaned. None how ever are sired by Gingee, Fergus and Big Boy Buck are our breeding hobs.

That rabbit looks young you shouldn’t be hunting them that small give it a rest let them build up

Woody Walrus that rabbit is an invasive species in Australia, the focus is on eradication especially for land owners such as on this property where the damage to sandy soil is huge. Its not a matter of "letting them grow up a bit" its a matter of taking as many as possible as often as possible.

Ferreting with Fergus everything should have a life if your just killing for no reason then there is no point plus your not even doing it humanly you should snap their necks because then they don’t feel nothing and your not bruising the meat of you want them gone move them to another spot while their young it’s not worth wasting time with killing them at that stage just put them in a box and set them off somewhere else and fill in the holes if you want them away that bad and since your name is ferreting with Fergus I’m sure you like the sport of hunting them but it will ruin it for you and everyone else of you kill of all of the young when they haven’t even had their chance to grow

And why are you working your ferret without collars?
@thompsonfamilyhuntingadven40366 жыл бұрын
Woody Walrus because our ferrets come out, never stay with a kill, come to the call and they're oppressively expensive. You'll find probably 90% or more Aussie ferreters don't use collar's, as 90% of our soils can't be easily dug with a shovel.

Woody Walrus ok a few points. 1, we are snapping the necks, two sharp blows behind the ears separates T1 from the skull and severs spine. More humane than folding or twisting head around. There is no meat bruising and all ours kills are destined for pet or reptile (snake) food, with a few for personal consumption. There is no wild rabbit trade for human consumption in Australia. 2, we are attempting to eradicate them for a reason, they're a declared invasive noxious pest in Australia. They cause hundreds of millions of dollar's damage each year to pastures, crops and land. 3, capturing, holding and then releasing/relocating wild rabbits in Australia is illegal, punishable by a monetary fine and/or imprisonment depending on the nature and severity of the offense.

What a brutal way of killing the wild Rabbits i disagree with that
@thompsonfamilyhuntingadven4036 Жыл бұрын
Disagree all you like, it’s called a priest. 2 blows to the back of the head seperates T1 from the skull & severed the spine. Dead near instantly, faster than twisting or folding head/neck. Quick, painless & ethical.

Do not comment on a hunting channel with your namby pamby thoughts & opinions. They’re a declared noxious pest species in my country and you are required by law to actively cull their numbers. We provide a contracted service to reduces population’s.
