I love that Ferris Wheel Press are branching out more and introducing more products. Although ballpoints don't interest me personally, the scribe looks beautiful. I wonder if they have plans to release more ink colours, they are a favourite brand of mine for ink!

Hi Sasonach -- I really love their inks and I've also been wondering what this year might include in terms of their inks!!!! We shall see.

Looks a nice ball point with a unique look, so great for anyone that still likes writing with them or to give as a gift to someone. I think it's great that Ferris Wheel Press are expanding their range. These days though, despite owning some high end ball point/rollerball pens (which sadly have been stuck in a drawer unused since the 1990s) I tend to only use the Pentel energels (I buy refills for them) and fountain pens.

Hi Annie -- I have really loved my Pilot Full Black and have refilled it multiple times ... the only issue was that when highlighting over it I had to be sure I was wiping the tip so I didn't have any ink glops that would smear. :)

Love the background!!!! It’s interesting that this could be use for art and I love anything gold! Great review and overview as always.

I appreciate that you can highlight over the Ferris Wheel Press ink! I collect ballpoints too..... So you know I'm tempted😉

Hi Melinda -- it is a nice pen. I wouldn't typically purchase a ball point pen above $10 but it's really quite impressive!

Interesting pen, I always love the blue and gold color combination. My pen obsession started with ball point pens they are always enjoyable with simplicity and low maintenance.

Hi Neal -- when I started really getting into pens was when the gel pens started coming out with so many pretty colors and then it was a short leap back into fountain pens!!!! LOL

Beautiful pen. Nice to know that it could be used with art.

Thanks for the review. I have always loved pens. My favorite ball point has always been the Parker Jotter that my dad bought me years ago. G2s and ink joys have also been favorites. Since back in the fountain pen world I don’t buy any ball points, although I keep looking at Retro 51s. The other day I wrote with an ink joy and was surprised at how much pressure I had to use. Fountain pens sure spoil me.

Hi Kathy - isn't it something how quick writing with a ballpoint can remind us why fountain pens are so smooth to write with!!!! It's amazing I think!

Looks fun, though I'd be a tad bit worried that the metal 'crown' would come off easily. The paid promotion tag was quite discreet in the bottom left hand corner. I'm not fussed about reviews where you were sent it, so long as I'm informed and that your review will be an honest one. I have no such worries about any of your reviews.

Hi Joanna -- thank you! It's interesting in my mind trying to figure out what I might think of a pen or ink if I paid for it -- would I think differently, or would I have even bought it? We are influenced I think by "free" even when we think we are not. So, I do understand the You Tube policy for disclosing when an item was provided by a company!!!!!

Pretty pen! I like it. I wish it was a rollerball though, because it’s more ergonomic, but I like it! Hi Chris! I hope life is going smoothly for you!!

Thank you for this review, I’ve been seeing this pen all over their Instagram but they didn’t have any demos on how it works. It looks like it writes very smooth. While I do enjoy a good ballpoint pen, this one is out of my price range unfortunately especially if I can get a new fountain pen, haha.
@ChrisSaenz133 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephanie -- it is a smooth writer! And weighty. I hear you - my pen allowance would almost always go toward fountain pen(s) or inks or cases. As long as I have one ballpoint that won't smear for highlighting. LOL

It's attractive, I guess the lanyard would work because the brass top puls off, that makes sense. I do buy Ballpoints for my youngest Daughter Harriet who cant write with fountain pens or rollerballs. so ill keep it in mind although the postage and the refills only being available from there might be an issue.

Hi Matthew! They are planning to release more ballpoint pen designs this year - I hope a clicker one will be in the plans.

@@ChrisSaenz13 they have 3 colours from their selection but its basically just the black tie, jelly bean blue, and telltale teal, id really love to see some of the limited edition ones or even some other colours like purple, red, etc

Is it a D1 refill? The pen looks good though. If it's a standard D1 refill, that would be useful. Thanks for the video. 😊

Hi Dash this refill is 134 mm long if that helps from tip to end ... my husband was looking at some of his refills and they are shorter. My belief is that this is a custom one but I will be finding out soon and I'll update here.

That refull looks like a Cross type. So, any brand that makes that particular refill type should fit it.

Hi She-wolf3636 oh that's cool - I didn't realize that it took fountain peninks! I just got a roller ball pen gifted to me made by a Japanese company - Okakimori ... I can't wait to try it.

Fifty-eight dollars for a ballpoint pen? It's still a fifty cent pen on the inside. Maybe some still but expensive ballpoints, but not me. I stopped using ballpoints for anything other than signing checks more than forty years ago, and this is still just a ballpoint. Worse, a ballpoint that won't take standard refills is money thrown away. Most companies make pens that take readily available refills that you can pick up at Walmart, Staples, etc. I could easily understand a gel pen, or a rollerball pen, but a ballpoint pen with refills you can only get from Ferris Wheel makes no sense. Well, except this keeps buyers running back to Ferris Wheel as soob as they need a refill. I don't know. An expensive ballpoint in the year 2021 is just odd. Might as well be selling buggy whips. But I'm not a Ferris Wheel fan, anyway. All I've seen from them is very expensive packaging and very cheap inks, several of which are so unsaturated they're just tinted water. Drastically overpriced ink because the packaging costs so much, hugely overpriced fountain pens with steel nibs at gold nib prices, and now fifty-eight dollar ballpoint pens. They are just too many better companies with better inks and better products at far better prices for me to buy anything from FW.

Well, the refills for my Pilot Full Black - the best quality other ball point I have are about $1.50 each so I wonder how much these archival German refills will be. But, for some folks who love fine stationery the price isn't so much a factor ... ! I remain a fan of Ferris Wheel Press and their beautiful packaging and unique products! I am the most unlikely to own these things and yet I appreciate them. We're all entitled to our opinions!

Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it. I’m a fan, and I find their prices to be in line with other art quality inks. I don’t know what you mean by “overpriced” when there are acrylic steel nib pens for much more than what Ferris Wheel Press charges. I’ve tried a few others, but I much prefer my Ferris Wheel Press....

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's bad 🤦♀️ Ferris Wheel Press items are marketed as premium, collector's item stationery. It's not one of those bookstore dollar items you buy and cycle in the daily. I've bought one of their shimmer inks and it's far less than tinted water than you've said.
