Another fun run to watch and I'm glad to see Ferrothorn again ^^. They are a really interesting character and they definitely aren't overpowered. While the nerfs aren't exactly what I expected it I am very satisfied with how they developed this character and they still feel awesome to play and don't feel like an autowin sorta character c:. And while I won't mention any names, it really is difficult finding good content for this game and I cannot exactly blame any creator for that. It does so happen that most that do often make assertions about cards and the game, despite them being so oft' not correct (even if perhaps not fully inaccurate). So it's nice to see a top-tier player of the game making conclusions that I thought were right, but sorta wasn't so sure if maybe I was overhyping/undervaluing certain cards and relics. This concludes my obligatory rant lmao.

Happy to see this character again. Have you tried making a deck that goes all-in on a weather type? Like a sun deck that spams Grow and Solar Beam or something?

Pre-patch I've had Rain decks spam Thunders.. Idk if a Sun deck is really gonna be great at this point, since it's really hard to abuse the Grow effect without using another weather. Also the solarbeam attack shuffled in deck instead is kinda fine. Sandstorm is gonna want that power card that gives 4 dex when upgraded, using synthesis to dump dex and scale metallicize..

really enjoyed your last ferrothorn video so thanks for putting another one out there. looking forward to giving this one a watch! I'm finding lately that my skill level has plateaued with the base characters around ascension 17 with ironclad and silent and ascension 14 with defect. (haven't even touched watcher yet, told myself early on I couldn't until I beat A20 with the first 3 which I am stubbornly sticking to). I have about 270 hours in the game. in your experience what helped you to understand the game better and improve to your current skill level? or do I just need to get good

When climbing ascensions, I would grind out the characters individually. Makes it easier to apply what's learned to the next run. But yes, of course, the more you play the better you get. There's a lot of spire "misinformation" out there on reddit, in other words, don't assume the average player online is smarter than you. Learn from direct experience. Try not to make a habit out of spamming events in act 1. Look at your draw pile and think about next turn. Just some general tips but everyone has their own roadblocks. I once talked to someone at a similar level as you, turns out they were still taking damage at golden idol in act 1 and hadn't paid attention to Ascension 15's unfavorable events. Helped them a lot to just lose max hp instead.

@@tricky8068 i'm glad that you've given the best advice you can give a player wanting to get better at a game. too many time do you see youtubers or streamers giving tips and tricks thinking they're helping players when the reality is that they just need to keep playing and learn from their mistakes. not only that you're helping to point out mistakes. as a coach in another game which i won't specify because i'm not looking for attention on the matter, you'd make a good coach

Fwiw, ascension 17->20 is when the game just goes crazy. Several people were able to win almost every run on a15 at the highest level who now win ~60% at a20. You're in the hardest stretch to adapt to, because so much changes in 17 and later will change, and because those changes really matter.

@@jonjones5092 Yeah A18+ is a different game , you get punished so much for not optimal choices and not every run you get what you need/want so often you just randomly die because your good cards are on the botton of the deck , what is helping me is saving and retrying so i can understand if i misplayed the fight or i just built the deck wrong .

Ive been playing alot of duelist mod, its very complex and powerful. Sometimes I think Ive found a bug, but its just a random interaction with a summon or card I dont understand. Alot of fun though, growing up with yugioh.

The other day I played a payback deck with runic pyramid. Was pretty fun to have the paybacks increase 10 every turn while they stayed in my hand. EZ win!

I think Wish+ is better than blur as you demonstrated by playing it multiple times in a turn. Being able to self scale up block across turns is crazy.

I think that taunt is just too broken. It's taking away you from trying any other mechanics on this character becouse it will be always better to pick a taunt. Somewhat similiar to current state of watcher. Like you can sometimes go for other mechanics but in majority of times you are better to just remove and go infinite D: When i add a taunt to deck i no longer have any arguments to ever add any other cards that makes enemies atack you and that's a problem for me - its just taking away diversity from this fine lad :D. I think taunt could cost 1 or make enemies atack you once and twice after upragde? Or maybe you could take more dmg than 1 What are your toughts on this?
