NOTE : Ogdon plays the passage at 26:36 for two times. At first, he plays the second version at 26:36 and then the first. Because of this, the score you see on the screen is not connected with the notes he plays for few bars. Sorry about this.
@SisselOnline

It's the second version first... Ogdon plays the NB part first, then back to the original version.

This is not what happens. Ogdon doesn't play a second version, he plays an optional extension which is two pages long. You seem to have completely missed it

Marvellous! Only a pianist as obes as the unanimously well respected JOHN OGDEN (famous for recordings of pieces such as Busoni's PIANO CONCERTO and Kaikhorsu Sorbaji's OPUS CALVINISTICUM) could do justice to a piece as gorgeous and gigantic as this. I am in awe! Kind regards

Ogdon added a few measures in the coda. Herberman also did the same thing. Where is the phrase derived from? Sounds like the coda of the two-piano version.

@@SisselOnlineIn my initial comment, I already mentioned almost the same idea as yours. But as you noticed it is not the same phrase from two-piano version. Anyway, I'm interested in discovering who or what brought the idea of an additional coda. Would Petri, Stevenson, or Banowetz suggest this alternation? Or was it an invention by Ogdon himself? This is what I wanted to know. I don't know if he has played the two-piano version with someone else. Also, no one mentioned that at 19:41, Ogdon overdubbed an impossible octave trill in the left-hand part. As far as I know, Ogdon never inserted notes that were impossible for one pianist to play, even though cut-and-paste editing techniques had been used.
@SisselOnline

@@takiohosoya4029 but this one is just that coda after the chords right? In 2 pianos version only 2 big chords while here original version 3, and Ogdon played 3 + the 2-pf coda, fair enough I think

Fazıl Say'ın istanbul senfonisinin her hangi bir bölümünü synthesizer'dan yapabilir misin ? Bence gayet iyi olur. Ulvi Ceemal'in halk oyun ezgilerini orkestrasyonladığı çalışmalar hariç bence cumhuriyet dönemi Türk besteciliğinin en önemli eseri istanbul senfonisidir.
