Ferry Crossing to the Isle of Islay, Scotland

A ferry crossing from Kennacraig in Kintyre to Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay with the "Isle of Arran".
During the journey views over the sea to the Isle of Jura and over Islay can be enjoyed. We pass the "Hebridean Isles" on her way from Islay back to the mainland. A fishing boat can be seen at work. Ardbeg and Laphroaig distilleries can be seen on the shore before arriving in Port Ellen.

i did this crossing about 18 years ago.its a beautiful island with stunning wildlife and friendly people,i hope to go back one day.

Where is this?????? Is this north Scotland??? Does this go to Ireland? I am in California. I would love some more detail.

No, this is in the south west of Scotland. It's the ferry from Kennacraig on the mainland to Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay. It doesn't go to Ireland, although on a clear day you can see Ireland on the horizon.

Thanks for the reply. I will be going to Belfast for a while. I am coming from California and flying to Belfast in /Aug and want to take a ferry to Scotland To go there for a week. Do you know about the ferries from North Ireland to South Scotland?? Thank you for your time From Deanne Cameron

Yes, there are ferries from Larne and Belfast to Cairnryan near Stranraer. Also a passenger only ferry to Campbeltown.

The "Isle of Arran" will always be my favourite, "Hebridean Isles" - don't like the seats, "Finlaggan" - keeps breaking down!!
