Way to hit up all forms of transportation. S. Japan seems amazing. Way to rock it.

Thank you! It's funny, but we really like to take a ton of different forms of transportation. It's just neat to see how each country does there thing. One thing I love about Japan, is that you can use the same card for all the trains and buses across the whole country - each city doesn't have their own pass - so it makes traveling super simple!

@@DestinationEarth yeah those JR passes come in handy! It is really well organized in Japan.

Sitting on the floor of the boat was a little different. The views along the way were cool!

Yeah, a lot of Japan doesn't do chairs - a very floor based society! It's an interesting experience, but one that I really like.

It’s impressive how much content you got on this trip. I have always enjoyed taking the train. How do you plan a huge trip like this? We pick one thing and then randomly do things afterwards. But bus is something we haven’t done. So jealous of the Ferry trip. Truly a travel channel.

Yeah, we are very lucky to have extended trips so we can film a bunch of things at once. We have exhausted a lot of our "local" content, so we do rely on going somewhere farther now - which means we try and travel longer, but not as often. For this particular trip, we just picked a National Park and looked into different ways to explore it and what made it unique. For a lot of our trips, I actually use a book by National Geographic called "Drives of a Lifetime" that gives you an area to explore and a proposed set of stops. Love that book. It's a life goal to "check off" every page of that travel book!

@@DestinationEarth Always curious how folks find areas to explore. For our channel KZbin likes it when we do local stuff but we are always traveling to different states. A 9 day road trip gives me 3-4 months of content. I probably have 20 videos Instill have to edit.

I like the card for scanning/paying on and off, so easy but man that was one long travel on different buses and trains. I prefer the train as I tend to get a bit bus sick. Not a sailor either so if I have to do the ferry it would be the quick one, as 3 and a half hours would kill me. Cheers Alan

The card system there is great. The awesome thing is that the same card can be used across the country - there are no city or prefecture limitations like I've seen other places - so it makes things SUPER convenient. As you know, my body doesn't always like boats myself, but the seas were calm and I was good the whole way there and back!
