Yep. Alcatraz Cruises is the only one that will actually take you to the island and let you wander around, and this video is of my trip to the island with them.

Up until the last ferry of the day, so if you arrived on the first boat you could probably stay at least 8 hours. I was there for 3-4 hours.

I was at Alcatraz on 5/25/2018. As I recall, the last ferry leaves at 6:30pm. The ferry crew drilled that time into everyone's mind so they would not forget.
