In this video, I will inform you about the best fertilizer option for wheat crop on first irrigation.
First irrigation in wheat field is applied on active tillering stage or at tillering stage which is considered the critical growth stage of wheat plant. Drought or water stress or lack of nutrients at this critical stage may cause severe yield loss in wheat crop.
Urea fertilizer is the best option to apply in wheat field on first irrigation. It contains nitrogen 46% which is the cheapest and economical source of nitrogen. Wheat plant needs nitrogen at this stage abundantly as it starts tillering in the presence of its food.
Calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) and Ammonium Sulphate (AS) are also good sources of nitrogen but are of high prices so our wheat growers should apply Urea fertilizer bag in their wheat field at this irrigation.
