I have a 2 year old grapes but didn’t grow well, I put 14-14-14 and other organic fertiliser. What fertiliser do you recommend for faster growth?

Hi Kim, my young grape vine (just bought from walmart June 2016)have some burn leaves on the shoot after I transplant it to the ground which I mixed the soil with bone meal when I planted it!! Been 1 month+ now, the vine just stop growing! Should I dig it out and replant it with fresh soil or it may be too late? Kindly advise, and thanks in advance.

Kim, Can you tell me what type of soil is needed for the concord grape. I purchased a plant with instructions that indicated the soil needs to be sandy, but most online information I've read recommends a dark dirt. Thanks

Epson Salts for the win!

what does that do?
@CrossroadToCountry10 жыл бұрын
Nell Easter Well many times grapes are deficient in Magnesium which can be remedied by adding a small amount of Epsom Salt to the soil and watering it in. I'd be sure to do a soil test first to make sure you actually need it though :) 2-4 oz for a 1-2 year old plant and 4-6 oz for older vines. Make sure to broadcast it over a 3-5' area. A tiny bit goes a long way.

you are saying not to damage the roots, well you should cut all the roots that are in depth 0-20cm or more, and let the new roots to go deeper, this way you get a better quality and a stronger plant... I see that you're doing it for hobby, for more info about grapes follow us on insagram or FB @DedvukajVineyards, & we will be happy to help you ;-)

My young vines appear to be a yellowish color, What do I need to do

+hillbilly Jeffrey It could be a number of things. If you've received a lot of rain recently it could be overwatering or lacking in a nutrient.

No thanks! No fertilizer on my land! Never! I would just put a lot of grass clipping, coffee ground, and fallen leaves around my rooted grape vine cuttings so that they will compost naturally on the ground attracting a lot of worms. They also serve as a good ground cover. No bark on my land either! Bark can't decompose in at least 4 years. Useless stuff.

There are several factors in how to grow grapes from cuttings. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Grape Grower Folio (check it out on google) definately the most useful guide that I have ever seen. look at the super info.

My exp., - the worst soil made the best grapes. MAYBE lightly fertilize, but hardly ever.
@pilsplease75616 ай бұрын
Wrong, grapes are heavy feeders of potassium and micronutrients you must fertilize frequently or you get nothing
