I grew up with the FoFC versions of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and never saw this one as a kid, but watching it somehow feels really familiar and comforting while also being exciting and new. And the quality is spectacular!

I still have it, though it's been many years since I last watched it. Watching this now, what immediately blows my mind is that Rankin/Bass - of the many many holiday specials - were the makers.

Cats and rabbits Would reside in fancy little houses And be dressed in shoes and hats and trousers In a world of my own All the flowers Would have very extra-special powers They would sit and talk to me for hours When I'm lonely in a world of my own There'd be new birds Lots of nice and friendly how-dee-do birds Everyone would have a dozen bluebirds Within that world of my own I could listen to a babbling brook And hear a song that I could understand… I keep wishing it would be that way Because that world would be a Wonderland

I honestly like this version of Alice in Wonderland. I don't know why, but maybe it's because of the simple 70s animation. Festival of family classics is such an underrated Rankin Bass cartoon. My favorite part is the tea party scene it was funny. People should talk more about this cartoon of alice.

@criminallyautistic8372
@criminallyautistic8372 3 жыл бұрын
@@KRGRTV From what it says at the end of the book I think it just means children have wild imaginations and to keep the same innocent heart of a child you need to hold on to those memories and childish fantasies, they are one of the things that have helped make you into whoever you are as a person. And maybe even pass it on to others or your own children so they too can keep that simple loving heart from when they were once children. Everyone of us has an inner child inside after all. I think what stories like Alice and Peter Pan have in common is that one never truly grows up. We all go back to our childhood now and then. Whether by eating our old cereal, watching our favorite cartoons or even snuggling with our parents at night or hell even laughing so hard at toilet humor you bust an intestine. Because that was part of our childhood. And if we keep that phase in our lives alive in our memories, and "remembering those happy summer days" we will truly never grow up. And we need to embrace it and enjoy it. Memories and ideals are very precious after all. ❤

Why was the Queen of Hearts called the Red Queen? Different queen, different book. In fact, this misnomer was the only reference in this cartoon to that other Alice book.

People seem to mix the two up often.
@criminallyautistic8372
@criminallyautistic8372 3 жыл бұрын
I feel like that was either their way of referencing Through The Looking Glass or to the Disney Version. I'm thinking Disney since the Queen of Hearts does quote the Red Chess Queen. "All ways are my ways" "Curtsey while you're thinking" but who knows? It could be a conquesendence i mean hearts are red. And they did say red queen not chess so.....

@@eduardo_corrochio Well, that information wasn't on IMDb at the time they wrote that. I know because I'm the one who added it. I got that information from the Behind the Voice Actors website. Though, frankly, I'm a little dubious about it. I'm not sure where they go that info, especially since not all the characters in this have their voice actors identified, and except for the character of Tom Sawyer, none of the other episodes in the FFC series are mentioned.

Say, Curiouser Archive, since you're uploading all these versions of "Alice...", some pretty little known, I was wondering if, by some sheer chance, you might be able to get hold of the TV special "Inaugural Celebration for Children".
