Masterpiece by Ustaad Tari Khan. The clarity, tayyaari and the layakari…all so well blended in one style. To top it all, the feelings of the artist reflects everywhere. The lehra on santoor by Kanwaljeet deserves all accolades, as she has done a very difficult job. Without her perfect support this could not have happened. And sure, the sound recording engineers have done a perfect job. One of the best tabla recordings.

The dynamics in the hall were perfect and the appreciation from the audience as well as Anindo Ji who was sitting in the front row along with a host of other great Tabla players and musicians made the evening an amazing one and brought out the best in Ustad ji. It was an experience to be cherished for a lifetime. The video can only do 50% justice to the actual moment in time but you are right, I have not heard Tariji like this ever before. Kamaljeet Ahluwalia's accompaniment was top-notch. Not an easy task with a rhythm master like Tari, who is able to mess with the most complex patterns and stay musical for 2 hours on end. I love Kamaljeet's reaction at the beginning when the first Bayan strokes kick in. You can feel the energy.

TariJi is almost a legend by his own skills. So this show would be impeccable, I had no doubts. But that said, I am really impressed by the nagma skills of this young lady. Keeping up with with Tariji when he does his cannon balls of layakari fractions is no easy feat by any means. She for sure did a wonderful job on that front.
