In my top films I can’t stand to compare or rank. It’s perfect. Right when bluray and 1080p became the norm for new purchases, I gifted the bluray to a friend moving into a new place. Our jaws were on the floor and we got nothing done. It is a GORGEOUS film, though fantastic images and beautiful humanity. I love MUBI but I can’t wait to buy 10 UHD blurays for gifts.

A masterpiece of a film. So good to hear stories from Tarsem about the making of this movie, especially his stories about working with Eiko Ishioka. I feel their collaboration is one of the greatest in cinema history. Their work together is so unique, so beautiful, it transports you to another world, which is what the movies are meant for.
