You can put the ETS EC 150 pads on the 125 without issue to get 6"/150mm of sanding capacity. The sander itself is practically identical. The Mirka mesh can also attach to this sander. Festool also have the Garanet (their version of mesh sand paper). Just make sure to use a protection pad (included)

Thanks for the great comment! I knew they were supposed to work, but have never changed mine to the 150mm. I've heard a few things about that Garanet...have you tried it yourself? Thanks again!

Not using Garanet, I brought the Mirka Abranet for higher grits (400+) which is where I personally see it excel, collecting the really fine dust. Only issue about going 150mm, is having the never-ending issue of two different paper sizes haha.

@@bombamanwa I was totally thinking the same thing haha. I'm going to look into Mirka again, I've always been interested and my festool will die someday I'm guessing.

Not running a Mirka sander, all Festool, but running the Mirka Abranet mesh abrasive on my ETS EC 125 when I switch back from the 6" pad to the 5" for finish sanding. Its not too much of a hassle to change, and have enough 5" paper for any touchups.

I bought this sander and the midi dust extractor. I got tired of my bosch hooked up to a fein turbo 4 and not catching most of the fine dust. I am waiting for my sanding discs to arrive. Thanks for your video

Mine is still going strong - think you will like it. Thanks for watching

You mentioned Festool sandpaper is expensive, It does cost more per sheet but you need to consider the cost to remove a given amount of material because that is what you are doing, removing material. On a material removal cost basis Festool sandpaper is on the lowest cost end. I use one sheet for a very long time.

Totally agree, was surprised once I started using regularly. Really impressed with the longevity of festool paper. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the very helpful video! I'm debating about which sander and dust extractor to buy. Have you been happy with the midi dust extractor?

Thanks a lot! Yes the Midi has and still does work great. Never had an issue with it, I’d highly recommend.

If you were to buy again, would you get this one (125/3) or would you go to the 150/3 or even the 150/5?
@bakkenwoodworking63413 жыл бұрын
Personally I only have experience with the 125/3. I think it really depends on the work you want to do - but don't think you can go wrong with one of those 3. Thanks for watching!

Is the 125/3 aggressive enough to remove material on wood? How much of a difference is the 125/3 to the 150/5 ?
@bakkenwoodworking63412 жыл бұрын
Can’t tell you the difference but if definitely has the power - just get lower grits

The Mirka Deros has reliability issues: I sold mine because of it.

Maybe festool is the way to go then. Thanks for the info and for watching!
