I wanted to add that I have learned a lot from Sedge's videos. I was just cutting the mortises for a small cabinet frame. I have gotten much more accurate with the Domino using Sedge's tips. I especially like the one about holding the domino back where the cord connects. This has made a huge difference for me in terms of keeping the various parts in the same plane. Also, I have adapted Sedge's tip about sanding the sides of the domino tenons, but for tightening up my mortises. I can now use the Domino on the tight setting and get a tiny bit of wiggle room in terms of alignment by sanding the rib on the two sides of the dominos. This means that I can be off by 1/32" or so in side to side alignment and still get everything to line up. This is a great channel for me, and I am now a subscriber.

I can’t believe the difference when I saw you explain how to hold the rotex. I had been using it wrong for so long

I love my 6 inch ETS sander. Just got it earlier this year after using cheaper random orbit sanders. The ETS is smooth. It sands very quickly. And the dust extraction is excellent. Wish I had bought it years agom

Got to say it again that the ergonomics on the Domino 500 could really be improved with a nice landing for your hand other than the smooth barrel. Most of us who use this machine end up holding way on the rear point where it is not designed to be held. Better support results from doing this and your knuckles clear the dust shroud. I never understood why the barrel never had an actual grip and shape to it. Think Mafell or even maybe Lamello etc. For the 1400 router the same issue with the pistol grip. It could really use a rubber surface that feels less slippery. The unit is heavy enough that the smooth handle just doesn't cut it. I'd also say it would be awesome to have a lock-out feature other than the front knob. For example, a switch or button on top of the unit which is where my left hand rests half the time anyway. Festool is often so slow to make these changes that many start coming up with their own DIY fixes. For example, the light now supplied for the 1010 router but that doesn't fix the issue for the 1400. It doesn't feel like a "system" really when the updates are still so piecemeal.
