Stumbled onto your page and was curious if you had a tutorial for a certain technique. I’m trying to join 2 pieces that are different thicknesses and want it to center on the base. Basically my trestle base is 6 inches thick and the piece I want to center and attach woth dominoes is 3 inches thick. Any tips or help or if my message doesn’t make since I could send pics. Any feedback would be amazing

I’m assuming you are talking about attaching the center rail/stretcher to the center of each trestle base or foot? Just draw a centerline on each trestle piece where you want the center rail/stretcher to go. Then mark lines across that center line where you want the dominos to go in each trestle base. Lay each trestle base side by side with the centerline facing up. (Space out the bases so your center rail can lay on top of the bases. (You may need to put the bases on the floor for space considerations)). Now pencil in a center line vertically in the middle of each end of your center rail. Lay your center rail flat on top of the bases and line up the end of each rail with the vertical center line of each base. Make a matching mark across the center line of each rail end that corresponds to the domino mark you made on the base center lines. Then use the centering marks on the domino fence and base and make your appropriately sized domino mortises. Just make sure you double check your domino base and fence settings and your trestle base and trestle rail positions for your dominos and your domino machine settings before you make the first plunge into the trestle base and rail. You could always do a practice setup with scrap wood just to make everything is positioned correctly. Hope this helps…
