Thank you so much, we are proud it is still preserved, and the annual competitions gave them the opportunity to showcase what we thought was lost but in fact hidden for many years. It is almost like mixed up with Kiribati Martial Art, which made it look so unique.

The group is called 'Te ie ni Kiribati', and the chant is too complex to understand, because it used ancient Kiribati words and names of Spirits. The dancing style is from North Tarawa, which continue to hold its title as best performers during local dancing competitions, due to the creativity of choreography, unique style of body positioning in coordination with arms, legs and head, and the speed, precision and synchronisation of movements.
