Festwochenende "50 Jahre Traditionsbetrieb in Radebeul 1974 - 2024"

Am 16. September 1884, also vor 140 Jahren war Streckeneröffnung der 750mm-spurigen Schmalspurbahn von Radebeul Ost nach Radeburg.
Am 10. August 1974 wiederum verkehrte erstmals der Traditionszug der Königlich Sächsischen Staatseisenbahnen als Sonderfahrt mit ausgesuchten historischen Fahrzeugen. Der daraus hervorgegangene Verein Traditionsbahn Radebeul e.V. ist damit der Dienstälteste Schmalspur-Museumsbahnverein in Ostdeutschland.
Zum Anlaß „50 Jahre Traditionsbetrieb in Radebeul“ am 24. und 25. August 2024 gab es deshalb viel zu erleben. Und die zahlreichen Besucher wurden nicht enttäuscht.
Es war eine Veranstaltung der Extraklasse und die sächsische IK No.54 sowie die IVK 176 mit ihren stilechten Wagenzügen machten die Veranstaltung zu einem besonderen Erlebnis. Leute in historischen Uniformen auf Bahnhöfen wie anno dazumal versetzten die Besucher in die gute alte Zeit der Dampfeisenbahnen um die Jahrhundertwende. Als Schmankerl gab es am Samstag mit Zug 4502 im schmucken Bahnpostwagen 2680 der Kaiserlichen Post eine Bahnpostbeförderung.
Man kann den Veranstaltern und den zahlreichen Vereinen, welche das historische Lok- und Wagenmaterial wiederaufgebaut haben und pflegen nicht genug danken, daß so eine Veranstaltung im Jahr 2024 überhaupt möglich ist. Ein großes Dankeschön und viel Erfolg und Schaffenskraft auch in Zukunft!
Festival weekend “50 years of traditional railway in Radebeul 1974 - 2024”
On September 16, 1884, 140 years ago, the 750 mm narrow-gauge railway line from Radebeul Ost to Radeburg was opened.
On August 10, 1974, the traditional train of the Royal Saxon State Railways ran for the first time as a special trip with selected historic vehicles. The resulting association, Traditionsbahn Radebeul e.V., is the longest-serving narrow-gauge heritage railway association in East Germany.
There was therefore a lot to experience on the occasion of “50 years of traditional railway in Radebeul” on August 24 and 25, 2024. And the numerous visitors were not disappointed.
It was a top-class event and the Saxon IK No.54 and the IVK 176 with their stylish carriage trains made the event a special experience. People in historical uniforms at train stations like in the old days transported visitors back to the good old days of steam trains at the turn of the century. As a special treat, there was a rail mail service on Saturday with train 4502 in the elegant railway mail carriage 2680 of the Imperial Post Office.
One cannot thank the organizers and the numerous clubs that have rebuilt and maintained the historic locomotives and rolling stock enough for making such an event possible in 2024. A very big thank you and much success in the future!
