This is an excellent tutorial and a fantastic introduction for a beginner in electronics. Much faster to learn than spending time changing around components and measuring on a breadbord. Once understanding the circuit on LTSpice you have a clearer idea about what you should expect when building the circuit and measuring on a breadbord

No, this tutorial has a ton of gaps for people used to CircuitLab or other circuit simulation software. First of all, it doesn't explain how to go back to the select tool once you select a component. It doesn't explain how to get the default cursor. It doesn't explain how to make components appear smaller in the schematic.

First of all, SPICE was created by University of California Berkeley. All the commercial versions are variants of Spice 3F5 I know this because I have an official copy including SOURCE CODE. Second of all the spice schematic capture program is one of the worst so while there are times the Spice schematic program is important (such as developing models) great effort should be expended to use a commercial schematic program that can accommodate spice, such as PCB Artist. Having said that, this double speed tutorial is pretty good and better than any I experienced (including classroom - especially classroom) presentations. Before I degreed out. I worked as a technician and sometimes used Spice as a debugging tool. at first it pi**ed off the managers - but I solved problems they couldn't by any other means, usually in the time a simple problem could be debugged. After the degree those managers worked for me, but there was no other techs willing to learn spice. So - Kudos to FesZ Electronics for a good presentation with one of the best simulators available to engineers AND TECHNICIANS.

Good introduction. At times it was a bit fast as i tried to follow where the cursor was to see what was selected, but by jumping back and restarting a bunch of times, i pretty much got everything. Especially difficult to know whether the right or left mouse button was being used for various actions. Understanding Label Net took several tries and another video to see how the label got picked up on the simulation; finally got the order of things correct. Using blue for the name on a black background was really difficult to read. But enough was covered to allow me to use LTSpice. Thanks for all your work in producing this.

Just approach local shop in Romania and show them your channel. Or even call German company.

Thank you for the kind words! I guess the only downside to making sponsored reviews is that it has to be a "good review" - no one will pay you to talk about the disadvantages and shortcoming of their product. For the moment though its not about making money, but rather making good content and I would like to keep it that way. I might do reviews in the future, but my main focus is just making interesting videos rather than what's profitable.

Great video! A lot of info packed into a short time. To be sure I got the most out of this, I followed along in LTSpice. Some other quick keys for adding components (whose abbreviation is not in the edit menu) are V (for independent voltage source) and G (for ground). Also, the calculation for power at 9:12 (V(N001,Output)*I(R1)) is almost impossible to see, as the dark blue doesn't provide much contrast against a black background.

11:35 Is this ramp-up because of the timestep? I'd expect something more instantaneous otherwise.
@FesZElectronics11 ай бұрын
Usually when a rise-time is not clearly defined, the simulator will just get a value; I think it is related to the timestep. But anyway if you want control over this parameter, the supply can be defined as a pulse source.

Could anybody explain me, why the current have different signs in LTspice for I(R1) and I(R2) (two resistance are in series so the current is the same), if you put one of them closer to voltage source ??? What is the sense of it ???
@FesZElectronics5 жыл бұрын
When measuring voltages its easy, the reference is either ground, or a different net but for current there is no reference direction... When you are performing a current measurement by going over the measured component or pin, you get the "current probe" symbol appearing. Apart from this symbol you also get a red arrow which will indicate the reference current direction - by reference to this the current is either positive or negative. In my case this arrow always points down on vertical components, and for horizontal components its either left if I go over the component or right if I measure the current trough a net (by pressing alt and going over the net). I usually just add a "-" to the displayed waveform in case I want the inverted current, I am not sure if there is any other way to invert the reference current.

What key are you hitting to release the resistor, or whatever component one is currently using? I put down a resistor and then want to 'let go' of the resistor tool. How??? Just found it, 'Right click!'
@FesZElectronics5 жыл бұрын
The common keys that I use are the following: - "Esc" - when in doubt press escape. This is what I used to put down the current component - Ctrl+R - rotate components during placement After simulation - Alt - plot power - Ctrl + LeftClick on plotted value - to show average power Maybe some others also but I'm not really aware, I do it by reflex already.. But all Keys can be found under the following path: Tools>Control Panel>Drafting Options tab > Hot Keys and here you can also edit them. Like maybe you want Undo to be "Ctrl+z" instead of F9, or I for example set Draw wire mode to "Ctrl+W". You can set up the program however you want.
