Discus of Light seems like it would be a great addition as a workhorse spell to save FP as you work through the field.

Discus of light is by far the best basic projectile spell in the game. Extremely spamable both in terms of animation and fp, can hit twice with respectable damage, very low requirements.

The Old Lord’s Talisman is almost always on for my build. Not only does it increase the duration of your body and weapon buffs, but also increases the duration of spells like Explosive Ghost Flame, Ice Storm, Black Flame Ritual, etc., and the tick damage on Black Flame and Black Blade incantations. Int. Faith has been my main build for the last couple of years. It’s so fun. 😊

@talalemad969 If ur using the staff of the great beyond, then u can use either glitch casting or quick casts that remove the recovery on some spells. If you want to use glitch casting, try catch flame into magma breath/Theodorax's magma. If you prefer quick casting, which is a little less of a glitch, I would recommend a carian Slicer into black blade. My favorite, tho is catch flame into stone of gurank into a lightning spear, it's great for pvp and pve.

Damn, this is a cool build. Not having to switch between staff and sacred seal is great (The staff animation for incantations is so cool!). I like the tactical aspect of this build, changing your load out dependent on enemies you are fighting. Keeps things from getting boring and spamming the same 3 spells all the time. Nicely done!

Having played with both, they don’t feel great to play at the start due to your limited resources. but as your stats grow and you get access to more powerful spells/incants, you just delete the enemy health bar. That and the Sword of the NnF just feels great to play in the base game. Highly recommend.

Very nice. Usually most builds just focus on boss fights and as high numbers of possible. This being versatile you can do whatever even in the landscape. Fun is important and this is fun rather than swap back and forth between seal and talisman

This looks super fun. I'm not usually one for caster builds, but being able to use pretty much every spell in the game sounds cool. The Quality style stats also appeal to me as the Quality build is one of my favorite builds in the game. Definitely trying this out.

The crystal chime was a staple in my DS3 build so it's awesome I finally get something that lets me use both kinds of "spells". I like combining frenzy incantations and finger/putrid sorceries

Another great build, thanks! Might want to consider Rellana’s dual swords as an upgrade for only a handful of more str/dex - you do NOT need to dual wield the blades in order to use either ash of war (sorc/fire) so it still “fits” the build concept of having the staff out at all times.

I totally agree! It adds some nice variance to the build - you can pivot to a more aggressive and fluid multi-hit melee style when two handing ala charged heavy into light. If the AoW ever sees a buff, it’ll be very strong, but as-is honestly the damage is great. I like to swap to SoNaF with the staff out. Dual SoNaF is probably a fine alternative to all of this as well, but variety is nice.

My favorite build! After beating the game and DLC with this build I found I mainly used incantations. They give buffs, holy and lightning dmg. Golden Order Seal + Discus of light is the range carry. Shield + SONAF for up close w/magic/fire dmg. Shard of Alexander + Rellanas Cameo + Flocks Canvas Talisman + Blessed Blue Dew Talisman With Godricks Rune I'd recommend at least 17 str, 18 dex, 50 int, 50 faith, 12 arc You will have access to some of the best weapons in the game. Blasphemous Blade, DMGS, FireKnight GS & BlackSteel Greathammer.

The *Rakshasa set* will definitely carry this build all the way Not only do you get *58 Poise* while wearing it, you’ll be dealing *+8% damage with EVERYTHING* for free; all while offsetting the low defenses with *Golden Vow, greater Barriers, etc.* Another Incantation to consider is *Howl of Shabriri* for *+25% damage for EVERYTHING* if you can handle having paper-thin defenses Also, don’t forget about slotting in *Scarlet Aeonia or Rotten Butterflies* as an option for inflicting Scarlet Rot!

Then I remembered...I suck at quickly swapping between spells and incantations. i use Prince of Death and magic against big things and Golden Order Seal against things weak to holy and against mobs but I really do wish I was good enough to rock this particular build.

If you have 52 vigor, and wear the crimson amber medallion +3, you get a little over 1900 health. Which can save you some points to reallocate elsewhere if you're min maxing.

I love the Staff of the Great Beyond! I love int/faith builds, and I prefer 60 int, 60 faith, and 24 mind. I'm glad they added something like DS3's Crystal Chime, which was my favorite in that game too. It's a shame there aren't any infusions that scale with int and faith.

Also if you put the golden order seal in your other hand you can increase the damage of sorceries and incants to make up for the lower scaling of the staff, while still keeping the staff as a catalyst that can cast both types of spells

Rocking a similar build with Rellana's twin blades. Extremely fun and flexible build. Level 200+. Have more points in Str, dex and End. Makes the dual stancing the blades devastating.

The timing could not be better. Playing an Int Faith build right now and realized like an hour ago that the staff lets you cast both spells and incants. My elden ring playthrough just got 50 times better. =)

I would love to see a gazing finger build, with a finger theme. I’m not a huge fan of colossal weapons, but this one is a lot of fun, and surprisingly quick. The E faith scaling fits 25 builds well. Side note, gravitational missile followed by fleeting microcosm works well.

And remember, you can still off hand a specialized seal or staff if you want a sweet multiplier to X class of spell. Comes in handy when you know the boss’ weakness.

I am playing a character that just stacks defense negation and it is VERY FUN I recommend it. Running around with 90% physical negation and I feel like I can wrestle Godfrey. I got the spiked fists right now so I can just pommel fools into the ground. The grafted great sword is amazing for its special endure. Not great for pvp but real fun for pve

Instead of using the sword of night and flame you could also use the sword of darkness/sword of light. Sword of darkness decreases enemies’ holy damage negation by at least 20% (I think) while sword of light can increase your holy damage by 20% as well But overall W build

Coded sword would be an amazing option as well.given it only requires faith. Another charged incantation would be aspects of the crucible horns if you wanted good physical damage. A magic offhand with carian sovereignty is cool too since that's also chargeable

I have been using that staff in new game +4 and haven't complained about the dmg. It's plain fun to use all the spells and incantations as needed. Also switching weapons that have both magic or faith scaling.

Can you perhaps do another version of the warrior wizard build? With new stuff from the dlc like Miriam's vanishing and the staff of the great beyond as well as new carian sorcery sword will make for a pretty nice spell blade build.

if you're playing pvp or pve sometimes you should use slower moves that either take up an area or have some sort of delayed damage, usually they suck but with this build it shines. fias mist, the gravity ball, the black hole ball and other spells like it work best when you spam them one after the other not individually. also you can use Rellana's weapon or the sorcery blade in your right hand and a seal you can swap with a shield in your offhand, literally whatever works.

tip: have GO seal as a backup, it has higer scaling that the staff. If a boss has huge weakness to fire or lighting then just use the seal instead of staff

I use a spellcaster build dual-wielding Prince of Death's Staff and Golden Order Seal, but I have Death Knight's Twin Axes and this staff in my backpocket to switch to a mage build that occasionally swings an axe. In my case, Death Knight's Twin Axes AoW is used due to it's versatility as a potential dodge tool and to close in and out of fights. Sword of Night and Flame is probably the best weapon for an Int/Faith archmage build, but something about how useful the Death Knight's Twin Axes' skill can be for a spellcaster on top of me liking axes (and lightning-channeling axes) better just means it has completely supplanted it on my build. (Plus the fact that my archmage build specializes in necromancy and lightning so there are more spells of those two types than the other ones there.)

I really want to see a “masked Curseblades” build. I really like the weapon curseblades cirque. It has an awesome AoW that can be buffed by multi-hit talisman and kicks talisman. The guard boost of this weapon is high and it has a muti-hits guard counter moveset which is awesome. Although currently it is bugged that the guard counter damage is not affected by the curvesword talisman nor the Deflecting Hardtear, I still like to use the hardtear with it because the guard counter damage is still high enough paired with the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia

I'd love to see a weapon armament incantation version of this (Order's Blade, Electrify Armament, Scholor's etc.), if it's viable. Buffing weapon for the right scenario. Tried to make my own sticking with the "meta" level range, but getting enough Int to outperform Royal Magic Grease seems tricky.

I think a possibility of a All-learning sage would be interesting sense it would have the use of most of the incantations and spells so maybe like 60 Int, 60 fai, and 36 Arc could give you quite the majority of the spells with the exclusions being the Moon spells, Minor Erdtree (Incantation), Light of Miquella, and both of Bayle's incantations.. (its quite small only 3 Sorceries and 4 incantations if you just do those stats True u can go for 80 to int and fai followed by probably if you wanna use Bayle's stuff 53 Arc then that would definitely be the all knowing sage.)

Just wanted to say that this is something along the lines on what I want to run on my current playthrough. But I have been more generous with stats I wanna do and, moreover, plan to use Rellana’s Twinblades, too. Has already been a bit awkward to set up in the early game. Also, as a heads up to all of you, this is not quite a spoiler-free guide. Blurred names is not enough. But I have already beaten the DLC once, so at least I’m fine.

So this is basically a magic focused jack-of-all-trades instead of someone who has like 50/50 in str and dex and a bit of int/fth for buffs. My current character has 36 str, 48 dex, 27 int, 27 fth, 30 end, 60 vigor and 24 mind iirc. I can use almost every shield and every weapon in my arsenal beside ones with arcane. It's not as powerful as min maxed stuff but it kinda works like this build with using whatever weapon gets the job done. Lotsa fun tbh so I want to try this build as well

I had an idea for a build that would utilize frost sorceries to apply frostbite, and then remove the effect with fire incantations, using this staff. If possible, I'd be so down to see what your version of that kind of builds would be! (I know you've made a build with the Zamor Curved Sword, but my thought is really a build focused on spell casting to achieve similar effects, of course with a melee weapon to compensate)
