Great review. I've owned a Delano, La Sal, and Signal. The Delano is the most versatile bike of the three and can be set up anywhere from XC to Enduro. If I had to choose only one bike, it would be the Delano. Fezzari is an awesome company.

Awesome, yes that is a major plus! Since they are customer direct, I suggest finding a festival that they demo at or if you happen to live in salt lake, you can demo from their office. If you are brave enough to just commit, they do have a 30 day return. We committed to switching without even riding them and just went off of the opinion of our friends.

Great seeing your latest videos! I will say this, you totally shred now! Even your wheelies are super impressive. Keep up the great work! Can you say what’s different than your Niner WFO 9 RDO versus your new La Sal Peak?
@AprilRideMTB
@AprilRideMTB Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I feel like the La Sal is easier to pedal, it might be due to the seat angle being more upright or maybe just the geometry as a whole. It is lighter and feels more playful. Also it is built to allow a mullet option, we still did it on the WFO, but it wasn’t made to do that.

But have you tried sr suntour suspension? I have had no problems with it and I’m only progressing with it, Kyle’s won 3 enduro championships with it, it’s good enough to win rampage and I’m sure there are tons more stats I’m not aware of. Just curious what’s wrong with the suspension in your eyes?

That was a good review. April you’re killing it! You’ve come such a long way as a presenter and a rider. Really cool. I have a question though would you be able to ride the Delano in the bike parks as well?
@AprilRideMTB
@AprilRideMTB Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Honestly it depends on the park. I could ride it at our local parks if I wanted to and a few resorts I went to in Utah (deer valley and park city mountain). It just depends on how chunky the trails get, how fast of a rider you are and if you plan on going big or keeping your wheels closer to the ground. Also it might make the riding a little less fun or more tiring than with more suspension. If you only rode some mellow park a few times a year, then it would probably be fine.
@ls66
@ls66 Жыл бұрын
@@AprilRideMTB thanks for the response guys. I ask because I just bought a Santa Cruz Hightower and previously had a Tallboy that I was bottoming out the suspension everywhere. I haven’t had that happen yet with the new bike and was thinking I might try mountain creek with it. You guys are the best. Take care.

Was looking at Fezzari last year when bike shopping. I was looking for something in between the Delano and the La Sal. I ended up with a local brand (Foes Mixer) but looking back could have got the Delano and spec'd it up a bit. Maybe for my E-bike :) Looking for one soon.

I’ve been riding a medium ripmo and want something smaller, lighter, and more agile. I like the Revel Rail, but wonder if I really need all that travel - thinking I could lighten it up going to a 150. I was really interested in the Delano but the rear shock was too small for the riding I do. How did you go about changing that rear shock? I have heard that you shouldn’t go up in size on rear shock.

XTR brakes with a Suntour fork? That doesn't seem right. I've only seen Suntour forks on really low end bikes. How does that fork compare to others you have used? Oh, and your skills have improved 1k%, you are killing it!
@AprilRideMTB
@AprilRideMTB Жыл бұрын
Maybe because suntour has low and as well as high end suspension? We use their higher end suspension. We love it and it handles everything we need it to. Kyle won 3 enduro championships on it, it’s won rampage and a ton of other stats. Thank you!

Hi I am curious about that shock layout on la sal because shock mounting is different on your la sal than on the one that is sold. That make me curious if it is some preproduction sample that will be released or is just custom frame for ypu and race team that use that shock layout too. Thaks for the answer✌️
@AprilRideMTB
@AprilRideMTB Жыл бұрын
Great question! I never even noticed before you asked, but there is a good answer. On the small La Sal’s the shock mount is on the down tube because of fitment reasons but it still has the same kinematic. But on medium large and XL the shocks mounts to the top tube.
@barkingmadman1169

Thanks for the review. Your mullet, is that frame built ONLY for 27.5, or is it sized so that you can put a 29 if you want? I want a mullet sized exclusively for 27.5 in the rear... a dedicated mullet. For me, if the rear is sized big enough for 29 then the geometry is still basically a 29er. The chainstay is still large, for example, and I still have a hard time getting my butt backward over the axel far enough to manual properly. It's the curse of being a smaller guy with 29 inch wheels, there are certain geometry realities that cannot be overcome.
@AprilRideMTB
@AprilRideMTB Жыл бұрын
The La Sal has the option to have 27.5 or 29! The gold La Sal that I show at the end has 29 for both wheels, although I would still rather have a mullet mainly due to my height

A small frame with 29" wheels makes no sense. I see short people on big wheel bikes and they don't look very comfortable. 26" wheel bikes with a long reach are better than any 29" bike. My 26" hardtail steel bike is almost as long as most full suspensions, with a 303mm BB height. When I see FS bikes their BB is very high causing instability on fast downhill sections. Bike makers are making the wrong bikes and sadly consumers are buying them up
@AprilRideMTB
@AprilRideMTB Жыл бұрын
I find that it is ok on shorter travel bikes, even on the Delano it is ok for me. It does have a benefit too on cross country to roll faster. But I did stick to 27.5 when I was learning as we felt it was better for a beginner at my height.
@RealMTBAddict
@RealMTBAddict Жыл бұрын
@@AprilRideMTB I don't understand the "rolling faster" concept. Bikes will travel as fast as you pedal, and your skills help navigate obstacles.
