EDF's suck - props rule! Enjoyed the maiden and the crash at the end - isn't that the perfect RC experience on a maiden? LOL. Good work.

LOL, thanks for the comment GraemeRobinson! For sure Prop RC planes have a much better power and thrust output watt for watt vs EDFs and are usually lighter too. I do enjoy both types of planes though. EDF's are cool for the more jet like sound and being somewhat more scale. But, yes I do enjoy the power and instant thrust of prop planes so much too. My favorite and fastest plane is my SuperNova which is a prop plane. My EDF FF-117V2 70mm on 5S consumes as much power as the supernova but not even half as fast!

The suspense and unpredictability, the potential for great success or spectacular failure is why people like to see maidens. I really hate some other KZbinrs when they say things like "true maiden" or 5th maiden flight. The people are liars. "I'm a virgin........but X and Y doesn't count. I guess I'm a born again virgin." 🤦‍♂🤦‍♀ NO!!!

FLies great. yjr quad elevons looks great. did you dial the rates down?

Thank you FSXTout! The Quad elevons work good on planes like this where the Ailerons are far behind the CG line. The CG line on the F-35 is pretty far forward on the main wing. I did not dial the rates back, actually increased them a little from my usual lower throw settings. My expo is set usually pretty high though. I put the rear elevator surfaces in the top servo notch to move more and the ailerons on the next notch down so they move a little less. Overall worked really good, I may leave it like this and then just add one servo for rudders later.
