Alexa was hesitant about training an inexperienced crew and leading an expidition in a harsh environment. Though it seemed safe enough, it was also reasonable for her as a professional to object. Glad someone was able to enjoy it. As a hardcore fan of Alien and Predator, I couldn't stand how this was put together, both in concept and in execution. But if a movie can still have an audience who likes it, then that's always nice to hear :)

I think the premise of Alien Vs. Predator sounds like it could have been a promising concept. However, in the way it was applied was simply underwhelming. That being said, I can sometimes indulge in movies universally panned as awful at least once in a while.

Nowhere in Alien 3 does Bishop II or anybody state that he is a clone. He claims to have designed the Bishop android, hence claiming he is the original Bishop. Either way, nobody really knows, not even Lance Henriksen himself. Admittedly, it IS possible that he's a clone, but there is no solid evidence of that.

Bishop was a droid in Alien 3 - just done more human, with red blood and such. No way would they send the real deal over to that prison planet - it would be too risky. AVP might be a shitty movie, but I don't personally spot any continuity errors I wouldn't be able to cover up with my own speculations.

Actually there´s a theory about the "real deal" being immortal. He went to that prison planet no matter how risky it was because he knew he couldn´t die... that´d explain why he didn´t feel more pain with that wound.

It actually answers a lot. That theory relates AVP with Prometheus involving Engineers. He knows that he can't die no matter what they do to his body, that's the point... if not, inmortality is a nonsese; no matter what work of fiction uses it. If you consider that inmortality is contradictory somehow then... wow! It's ok. He wasn't immortal all the time, he became after the events in AVP so he'd feel limitless like a God & that arrogance would justified why he didn't mind THAT risk. Because he got an incredible power but haven't thought the consequences or limitations of it.

The Weyland from Prometheus backs up the theory with all he says in the last third of the movie. The Engineers proved in Prometheus that they know of the existence of an older & intelligent extraterrestial civilization that predates them. The Engineers know that humans won´t die until they kill them. With Prometheus is implied that no race in the universe can kill it self & that no race would extinct ever for "natural" reasons like meteors, cataclysms or running out of resourses for overpopulation. If a race/species dies out is because another one killed it. The ones responsibles for that "balance" are those older intelligent extraterrestial beings that, because they can do that, ARE immortals. Because ask yourself: why the Engineers wanted to kill humans? the question here isn´t why the changed their minds? is the other one. well actually it doesn´t matter the "why"; it matters the "why KILLl". It´s a much older species that lives longer than humans (in the movie is hinted that) so why not just wait for the humans to die on their own? By the time the chose to destroy human race there´d to had pass a buch of centuries, even millenniums so they know about war & diseases... they´re smart, they´d have guess that it was pointless to kill humans when they´re going to die anyways. I mean that the plan of killing humans is like trying to kill a homeless suicidal kid that has terminal cancer. There´s had to be a reason for them to risk themselves in order to exterminate the human race. Anyhow, a group of those "aliens" gave Weyland immortality because they take part in the history of every intelligent race/species in the universe; they have their reason to do certain stuff & chose certain being for their purposes. Looking closely Prometheus I noticed all that, that movie backs up all this & more. Besides is not the same to what you said about Ripley in the third one because in NO movie do we get that the Queen Facehugger could replicate humans... in Promeheus we get that there´re beings in the Alien universe that have the power to give immortality.

Actually there´s an explanation for the Henriksen´s casting choice. The Guy Pierce´s Weyland was the public persona, an "actor" for the media... of course, we see a magazine with Henriksen´s face on the cover but that is in the year 2004, After the events from AVP he (Henriksen´s Weyland) came out with a plan to be out of the media. Now read me out! I mean, if you´re a millionare that discover major science advance that can benefit you & your company & you don´t want to be chase or recognize nowhere for all that, nor being bound to the responsabilities of running your company while still be the real owner... what are your options? I think Weyland faked an attempt on his life & then his doctors stated that he needed a rejuvenate procedure that led to him looking Guy Pierce-ish. For the media, or just to people´s eyes, Weyland after that near death experience & with that rejuvenation changed his name to Peter instead of keeping Charles Bishop & became a more "public figure". The original Weyland hired that actor to replace him & so he changed his name to Michael Weyland but couldn´t change his face. Everybody then thought Weyland was still alive with the new look & name while the real one was doing secret stuffs. That explains why the Bishop from Aliens wasn´t recognized as Weyland; because there´s been like almost 200 years (or just 130... the timeline of Aliens it´s a mess) in between & none of the people on the ship of Aliens were born when Weyland looked like Henriksen, also because every record of him was deleted or destroyed by the old Weyland. Now here´s when shit gets real. Why Weyland had gone for all that stupid thing? What secret stuff required him doing all that process? Eternal life. He found a way to become immortal. I´m serious. That´s why he´s still alive by the time of Alien 3 & why he didn´t died instantly or cry like a bitch with that major wound in his head. He can´t die so he´s still the same Weyland from AVP. Yes, we see him dying in AVP but I´m sure that he didn´t. His body was rescued from the pyramid & after a secret process (it relates to the Prometheus storyline) that we don´t see, most likely, involving Engineers he comes back to life. He then knowing that is immortal chose to go with the plan I´ve already explained & then leaves into space looking for answers from the ones that make him immortal. Now this explains the motivations of PETER Weyland in Prometheus. He believed that there´s something weird & mysterious about Weylandindustries but he didn´t believe the explanation: "the original Weyland hired him because had became immortal & so decided that an inmortal life in a small world of mortals was a waste; that was instead worth living in the infinity of space like the beings that make him immortal". Peter (the actor) gets scared of death &, desperated, looks for records of the Weyland whereabouts or how he´d became immortal... he is helpless because the original Weyland was ligh years away looking for more secrets so he funded the Prometheus expedition. But after all this... why do YOU compare 3 different characters? Just for having the same last name? Peter, Charles & Michael... they don´t have a reasonable connection at the first look. Besides, aside from the Alien franchise timeline being a frickin mess, according to Weylandindustries Weyland was born in 1990 so he´d been 14 by the time of AVP. On the other hand... what does the fuck matters if Fincher didn´t know what he wanted? He didn´t write the script & at the end is Anderson responsible for stating that Bishop from Aliens was designed from his Weyland... if you see the making of you´d know. Ultemately... Prometheus is a completely different movie, how could even make sense? Isn´t even a direct prequel to Alien... Good God, that complain about Henriksen casting has just no bases other than nitpikin.

Wow. These guys really don't know jack shit about Predator Lore. The Predator that Arnie fought was a bad blood (Dishonored) and the ones here are Unblooded (Noobs) and they have to prove their worth. I'd doubt that the elders would allow them to have acid proof armor like the Wolf's. Next up the rank is Blooded, then Elite, Ancient, then Lord. The reason why Scar armed the girl was because she killed a Xenomorph, which showed she is a worthy hunter. After she killed the queen she was rewarded for a noble kill. Queens and Empresses are considered a great kill in the Predator Mythos. Plus do you even know how advanced Predators are? They probably did Xenomorph Bioengineering which is why they hatched so quickly. Is it a bad movie? Eh, it's subjective. But before you start to bash something try to remember to look up the lore first.
