I remember playing the original as a kid and not putting ANY lightning materia on Red XIII, Aerith, or Barret before this fight. In fact, I think only Red XIII had any offensive materia. So it was a really painful boss fight.

I had a rough time here because I had Barret equip a melee weapon :(

@@Aldiraider hahaha. It wasn't intentional. I was just curious and tried the melee weapon on Barret. Then, this boss fight happened AND I CAN'T CHANGE HIS WEAPON BACK TO RANGED RIP. Needless to say, it was a fucking tough fight and Aerith had to do everything

Aerith's shielding spell is *literally* the only reason I survived my first playthrough here- this tank was tough! Plus.. I goofed and kept my lightning elementals with Cloud -_-

This fight was long and hard, but it was a lot of fun and visually stunning

It's also one of most unique Remake bosses, since it's entirely built around ranged charatcers.
