FF1 NES Harm and Hammer

YT recommended me this channel today, I love FF1 and believe it is extremely underrated despite its bugs and quirks, definitely going to watch some of these runs!

This is the best FF1 channel on youtube it reminds me of all the old challenges on gamefaqs like people were debating which was harder solo thief or solo white mage nobody knew or could prove they did it but here you go shane has done it all now we know for sure. I wish he branched off to FF3 nes but then again FF1 is unique there is no other FF like it. FF3 feels a lot like FF5, FF2 is super unique too you might want to check out Maelstrom he is your guys for all kind of FF2 related runs.

@@shanezell they are definitely different experiences but IMO not as popular as FF1. Basically in 2 you can abuse your way to endgame pretty easily. In 3 there are challenges here and there but endgame is just BRUTAL. Like make temple of fiends twice as long with two times as many bosses and if I recall correctly no way to save or heal.

Idea for a couple of challenge runs: Fire & Ice runs. In the Fire Run, you can deal damage only using the fire sword & fire spells (which would include the mage staff and NUKE, I suppose). In the Ice Run, you can deal damage only using the ice swords and ice spells.

~2:02 -- "we can ignore his one point of damage!" -- NO! The run is ALREADY invalidated! You need to do it again! 😜(Just joking -- I don't think the one point of damage from Dan's fists of fury meant anything when you had harm doing like 30 points of damage)

I do so many different kinds of runs everyday, it is so easy to just go into autopilot mode. I just did another run today where I did something similar.

Great run! Just out of curiosity have you ever defeated the Eye and jumped in the hole without grabbing the Floater? I remember that happened to me once back when I used to do challenge runs, was so upset with myself.

@@benradical6179 a long time ago I used to have issues like that before. I started splitting my timer after I grabbed the key items so I never have that problem anymore.

@@ramenkingcruz Currently the only mobile version you can buy is the Pixel Remaster. They have had other wild versions on the phone but they don't keep them around for long.

@@wallymccary88 fists and knives doesn't really change anything, I don't think I would even attack anything barehanded. Swords and staffs would just be a normal Speedrun without a silver knife. I've also already done a spell only run.

@@NEKOEVE I don't think that my guy punching for 1 damage really hurts the run. It takes many hours to do all of these runs, I'm not always just doing to reset over everything.

@@jsteen84Really? cause I don't think you do. If the response is "it's no big deal" I would assume any flub run is going to be brushed off of all the runs the runner does.

@@NEKOEVE Oh no this means others shanezells will come around, challenge him and do an actual valid arm and hammer run and then his reputation will be DESTROYED. They can try they will never beat his time unless they can beat some of his actual WR do not worry about the meme categories.
