ABOUT THIS GAME
Final Fantasy 14 or FFXIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida, it was released worldwide for Windows and PlayStation 3 in August 2013, as a replacement for the failed 2010 version of the game, with support for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS releasing later. Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original 2010 release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods' blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.

Not spoilers because Estinien says the dragons name, but that isn't Tiamat. I can see why you'd think so though! You'll meet this dragon soon though and he's such an amazing character.

Congrats on making it to EW! I remember when you just started ARR, you've gone on quite a journey! This Expansion is absolutely incredible! Imo, I can't decide which Expac is better between it and Shadowbringers. The Highs are just too good!

Welcome Jordy! I’m so excited for the prospect of you catching up to us in DT. You will be one with the playerbase. Honestly ARR has been the only tedious MSQ for me. I know fandom opinions vary on expansions but suspect you will enjoy EW a lot. The zones are so diverse.

The music must seem like such a weird combo if you haven't played through and realize it's all the expac motifs 😂 And I also agree, the tower is way more Lovecraftian looking than Garlean!

This ain't spoilers since I just finished HW again on a different character but the Sharlyan you saw in the trailer is the original Sharlyan. The one that was destroyed during the exodus was the new one where some of them moved to Dravania. I'm happy for you that you've come this far already my friend 🥹
