I cried when I lost my house. I was unable to log in because I lost my job for a bit...by the time I was able to play again, my house was gone and my stuff was gone too. I quit the game for about 2 years after that because the gil was incredibly difficult to save up for on a JP server. Didn't come back until my boyfriend and I started up together on an entirely new server.

YOUR STUFF ISNT GONE! You can pick it up from an NPC! I think its the calamity salvager but you might have to google around, but I repeat, it's NOT gone!

The reason there's an option to move to the front door, is in case you get stuck and can't move for any reason. It also keeps people from griefing others by trapping them in the house. It's not because people are lazy =(

in old days it was 6 months then they lower it to 45 days to force you to pay your sub every other month its a money grab for square it should be 6 months its hard to find a stable job anymore

Spent 5 days, and about 60 hours of total clicking time to finally get a house (beachside Shirogane!) It wasnt too bad as I was able to be clicking away on my ps4 controllerr while working fron home. But goddamn do my hands hurt like hell. I was seriously considering buying the game on pc just so i could use an autoclicker as i dont think its available on ps4.

If anyone's reading this it seems like you can't use a permit for a different residential area. I just tried it. Probably got changed at some point.

Pro tip for when you get stuck. If you move in the same direction for like 5 seconds into a wall or prop that you can't move through, the game will give you noclip for a bit and you will walk right through it. You can use this to walk through basically anything in player housing.

Thise large permit sales are most likely pkayer buying GIL. Most sites do it by buying stuff from you on the market

The move to front door function is nice if you get yourself glitched into the wall, ceiling floor or stairs when playing around with things. I've gotten myself 'stuck' more than once.

New player here... I've got questions about this 45-day rule. I must be missing something here. I'm shocked and appalled! What if you unsub for a couple of months? Is it all gone?! Your magnificent villa, that you spent hundreds of millions on... Gone?! What if you're in the hospital for more than 45 days?! It happens...

First, welcome to FF14. And yes, you lose the land, you keep the stuff, but it's the main way housing becomes available. People stop playing. You get lots of email and in game warnings. But your character needs to step foot in your house every 45 days to keep it:) Cheers

@@DefeatMedia Look me up at Oromis Alfinkin on Crystal Server NA. Loadstone for the 5.4 Ishgard Restoration had me ranked in 2 categories. I got 6th in Leatherworker and 27th in Goldsmith in same contest. Wasn't my intention , but I saw Goldsmith was going up a lot, so I switched to LW on day 3 of contest so I wouldn't have to go totally crazy on pts to place. Firmament Saint is hard grinding , let me tell you it makes furniture and other high LV crafting look like child's play in comparison. I found one contest that I said "never again" and that was it. I originally joined the game in 2017 DEC, and got to Omnicrafter in the Old days. I Recall when ranking up crafters was a huge deal. When top armor didn't sell for 200K, it sold for 1.2 million unmelded, and when it took cross class skills and mastery of unique skill in each class to craft everything. When I came back from my 18 month Hiatus last year, I was disgusted with how easy they had made crafting. It dropped prices so much It was way harder to make gill.

I can't find any information of where to get housing permits other than buying from the plot itself or the mb. Where where do the people selling on mb GET the permit? I haven't found any information on whether they can be crafted either.

@Crushing Defeat Media Thanks for answering, I think however you misunderstood the question. You only say in the video there are 2 ways to get the permits; plot and mb. But players who sell them on the mb must have gotten them somehow to begin with. If they bought themselves directly from the plot it makes no sense selling cheaper. If they bought cheap themselves from mb to sell at higher price the original vendor must have gotten it somehow. So is there another way, like crafting? Or do people really have such bad economic sense they buy at plot for 450k to sell cheaper on the mb?

People buy the wrong ones, or hope people don't know how to buy it, and they are used for RMT. No crafting or anything like that.

Do those NPC's in your house pay better for items than the Retainer? Because you mentioned having someone to sell items to that your retainer received on ventures, but retainers themselves can have items sold to them just like a merchant.

I'm taking about selling them straight up, not on the market board. For items that can't be sold on the MB, or sell for less than an NPC vendor will give you. Is there a way to do this with a retainer? Not seeing the option, but if so, you've taught me something:) Cheers

Yea if you go to your retainer, go to "Sell items in your inventory on the market", and if you're on PC right click on the item you want like when you put it up for MB, there's an option that says "Have Retainer Sell Items". That option vendors it to the Retainer like a regular NPC vendor.

That’s just the permit, the plot cost 3 to 40 million gil depending on the size ( small, medium or large )

Ok, my retainers found an Oriental table and a Hingan sofa. I want to use them, but I can't because they're not in the storeroom??? NO idea how to do that as they are in my inventory. So do you basically buy everything? I mean I can also craft it but I still have no clue. The SIMS were easier lol!

Housing menu from the bottom right menu. One of the options that should pop up at the bottom is place in storeroom. Your storeroom is separate storage from your inventory. Hopefully this at least gets you started. Good luck!

At this point you can put any style of house on any plot in any zone. Just has to be the right size (cottage, medium, mansion). Cheers

Thank you! The Miniature Aetheryte and Deluxe Garden patch can be purchased from the housing vendors in each zone. Then you just move the mini aetheryte into the patch, and voila:) I've seen people combine the aetheryte with lots of outdoor housing items, but it fits perfect with the scarecrow in the deluxe garden patch. Houses can be tough to get, especially on busy servers. Keep checking as often as you can. Or get an apartment (or fc room) to get started, keep saving for when Ishgard housing comes out, and be ready that day to buy right at launch. Cheers and good luck!

You have to "use" the house or it gets demolished after 45 days. What does "use" refer to? Just stepping on the land/going through the entrance? I'd like to know =)

You have it correct. You just need to physically have your character inside the house at least once every 45 days. SE will also send email reminders if you get close. I'm a big supporter of this policy! We saw the worst housing draught ever when this was suspended due to the pandemic. But it looks to be back in place currently. Cheers

Be sure you have purchasing rights (Rank Settings). Afterwards, when you buy at the placard, have the money on your character, follow the same steps at the placard, but you'll have a "Free Company Housing" option right under Personal. Just be sure to not misclick. There's sadly no way to make the cursor "default" to FC Housing.

Max plot price for a small (1st class) is 3.75 million. So it depends on if you like the plot, and if it's worth the extra 1.5mil minimum upcharge (could be a 2.2 million upcharge depending on the plot). Not trying to plug myself, but my video "How to Find and Buy a House v2" might help. Cheers

I believe that 42mil was the result of someone doing RMT for gil. One of the ways that people get their gils after purchasing them with real money is to get them via MB. This makes the deal more legit than trading it directly.

Don’t get a house. You’ll only get your heartbroken if rl rips you away for 80 days or longer… it is not worth it. It’s a shackle to keep you subbed to the game even when it is best for you your emotional and financial health to step away. It makes a return to the game after a long hiatus a painful one…all of your seasonal and even mogstation purchased furnishings…gone. Truly… There really needs to be more videos about the dangers and the criticisms of this broken system that should’ve never been implemented before they found a fix to the limitation of even just retrieving your furnishings no matter how long it takes one to return back to the game. It. Is. Not. Worth. It.

Hard to say with confidence without the full patch notes, but... Once it launches, selling The components for ishgard restoration recipes will be profitable. Also folks are/ will be levelling Fisher to do ocean fishing. Maybe there's something there? Facet gathering/crafting gear is very cheap right now, but will it stay that way? Personally, it's a gamble right now and I'm waiting for more info:) Cheers

This is was so much better than the bidding system, so many people are getting a house right now and don't do anything with it.. they are just occupying it without any reason, i wish the clicking system comes back atleast people that REALLY REALLY want a house are getting one.
