It's so sad that so many gamers will never experience final fantasy 6 or chrono trigger. I'm so glad that my older brothers and sisters played those two games all the time as a kid so i could really value the story and the music. Here's to hopefully being a remake in the future for newer generations to immerse themselves in the great story of ff6 and chrono trigger. :') (also bum rush ftw)
@AkaiAzul11 жыл бұрын
They made FF6 for the iOS that has, ummm, updated character sprites. I can't say for certain if that was a good thing (haven't bought it), but it's a start. This game does deserve as much, if not more, attention as its younger brother FF7. With all the bells and whistles of 3D and an orchestrated soundtrack, everything. Even to this day, there hasn't been a story remotely close to the grandeur this game has told.
@Popplenator10 жыл бұрын
Alastair Jack I agree here, there's that 'SNES Renaissance' feeling to the old sprites which just make them special.

These games are classics with the best music composing. After finishing a lot of Newground's Flash based RPG's like Mardek, and Epic Battle Fantasy I decided to go through the real classics JRPG (the inspiration of the flash based RPGs) This year I just finished FFVI, FFVII and Chrono Trigger for the first time. It's a great achievement for me. not because these games are hard or long. But because these games are great stories and music performances and fun. but with a lot of grinding and a bit annoying random encounters (not in Chrono). These games are a prove that games is able to be high quality medium and not just mindless crushing candies. From the three games above - Chrono Trigger is the winner What do you think should be the next classic play next?
@GroinDestroyer10 жыл бұрын
Omer Neu honestly chrono trigger and ff6 we're ahead of it's time, but i guess one of my favourite games as a child was secret of mana, but i heard if you play it when you're older you might find it juvenile. It was one of my favourites though, i think alot of people who have played ct and ff6 have played it. The sequel to secret of mana is called seiken densetsu 3(japanese name). You may enjoy it! have fun

still the best ending theme in video game history. relm and shadow's part is truly epic.
@Joe_3345 жыл бұрын
I don't think the writers knew what they doing with Shadow. It seems like he was supposed to be written off after the floating continent. Then, if you let him live, he just fights at the colisuem and then helps take out Kefka. He just stays behind in Kefka's Tower.

AGH WHAT ALBUM IS THIS TRACK FROM!? It is 100% NOT from Final Fantasy VI Original Sound Version - that is literally what the music sounded like in-game! This sounds like a recording of a live performance - but there's been so many and none that I've seen seem to say they do the ending theme for this game. EDIT: Searching around, this (sadly) is from the Littlejack Orchestra Fan Concert held back in 2009. As far as I know, there are no recordings which is a travesty because it was regarded as one of the best, most heartfelt renditions of many of the Final Fantasy VI pieces. This is probably THE ONLY full rendition of the ending theme, actually.

Made this one years ago from Little Jack Orchestra. A shame I couldn't do better at time. Sounds far from perfect. But I'm glad you and Kara appreciated it. She is indeed a fantastic pianist ! I think there's still a lot to do with FF6 material, using a huge, massive orchestra, with definitive arrangements, and with Kara on piano of course!

Someone seriously needs to make either an epic novel or an epic film of the Final Fantasy 6 story like peter jackson did with Lord of the rings. I just don't know if there's anyone out there good enough to do justice to the story and get the depth of the themes woven throughout the plot. Good vs evil, Love vs hate, personality vs objectivity, magic vs technology, power vs freedom - i really think that the makers of FF6 created a timeless masterpiece that needs to be passed on to our children.

@justa16thnote I will admit, the bagpipes from Grand Finale grew on me after a while--the player is incredibly skilled. However, the first time I heard them it was quite jarring. Bagpipes have such a harsh sounds that works in many places. For such a pretty melody, I just wanted a softer instrument... especially when I heard it orchestrated for the first time.

@Falstaff85 Because it is known that FFVI's ending sequence trumps that of pretty much every FF game except for perhaps IX's. =P In all seriousness, it's lengthy. You'd have to use it as the finale and probably dedicate a large chunk of the program to that piece alone. That and sadly the formats for concerts seem to have moved away from overly lengthy pieces. Part of why the entire opera sequence for FFVI as seen in Orchestra Game Concert 4 was never done again. =/

Remember when the game wanted him to die off after the Floating continent? It heavily implies that he was supposed to be offed there. Even if you save him, he will only get drunk on non stop fighting at the colisuem, in world of ruin. His ending is very tragic though. I believe that Kefka was his old partner, Baram, before he was infused by artificial magic.
