Hello, I've had my arduino wheel for a while now and there's one thing bothering me, though you could help. I use IBT2 driver with my1016 motor(belt geared 1:4) controlled by arduino with aiwawe frimware. When i power up my motor controller wheel gets harder to turn (resists fast changes) even with no gain. Makes it hard to react and use for drifting in Assetto...FFB does work but it gets harder and harder with gain increase.

Hi. Don't know such an issue. May be IBT_2. They can be of not good quality. Try Use soft that is in description. But there is bugs with Asseto then with it. Transfer to STM32 and MMos firmware can solve that. But if smth wrong with IBT that's another thing. Can ask somwhere there. www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-peripherals.32/

@@modellerdesign I tried EbolzMagy's software (he just released a new video today) and the wheel stiffness is solved, still a bit glitchy in AC but better. I will wait for the final release of his software and try that. STM last option :) thanks:D

yes , you can use whatever motor you would like to use. 24v motors have a good power, but 100w is maybe to low. i would go with something like 250w+ with atleast 2500rpm ( something like MY1016, MY1020 or even MY1020) . Going with a 12v power supply (even if the motor is 24v) so to use more torque and not use the max speed of the motor ( thats not what we want )

I connected my 600 ppr ab phase encoder to Leonardo R3 , everything is OK but wheelconfig does not detecting the encoder rotation ( x Axis) , sometimes says calibration error ,, please help sir ,

Turn on the z phaze switch if use wheel config soft. Use emc soft. It don,t need that.

@@internetdinosaur64yearsago ibb.co/mdFmDA NO. 12 V external "+" only to encoder. From the same ext. 12v power wire U can drop it to resistors "a" "b" with encoders wires too. Bind together only encoders, leo and external power supply with Leo's "ground". All "-" wires should be binded together. Arduionos 5v use only to power axis to pedals ets. How's the FFB detail with a chain? I'd imagine that you'd lose some finer detail as the chain is made to be able to move from side-to-side a bit

The belt ruined the pulley ffb wheel age, sincro teeth belt dont work at all , belts need too much tension, overheating all system, belts loose 30% of transmission force and drifitng easily, fanatec was tried the last attempt in csw 2.0 combining flat and ribbed belts, and it is the "best" bulley ffb Sr wheel on Market. Forget belts or go to dd.

Hi. Actually did not test the belt, but a chain is superb in this terms really. No backlash and can handly huge tensions. A belt can tear to pieces.

@@willentinejerry3209 emc lite is free. Also there's emc 0:9. But its has a bit wrong ffb from the authors words. He has full version of his EMC, and its paid one. The encoder is powered from Arduino and has 50-500 ohm resistors from arduino + 5v to encoder ABChannels too. I'll drop a link.
