I'm 71 and have followed Manchester City since I was 8. It's very early days but this Norwegian looks to be the deadliest forward I've seen yet, his pace off the spot is blistering, his strength skittles defenders, close up he rarely fails, from distance his power sends the ball rocketing into the corner. Could be another good season.

Here in Norway we could read in the papers that a scientist had done a scientific research on players capasity to scan his and other players position per second. He and his team did this study on all the top players in Europe, and they observed in particular how much the players used their eyes every second. And they found that Haaland used his eyes to look around and scope his and the others positions constantly almost twice as much as for instanse players like Messi did. One of his forces in addition to his speed, timing and tecnique seems to be his ability to read how passes will come or even where the ball will come or end and at the same time where the other players around him will be. This according to studies on those top players.

I am Norwegian and I have never heard har being used for mountain before. It must be old Norwegian in that case. The closest I can think of is skjær (skaer, skar) which can mean a gap between two mountains or a mountain below water. Har is also meaning "to have" in Norwegian which is the most common use. Hå (haa) is the name of the place Haaland is from. Hå was also the earliest Norwegian term for a municipial. It isnt used anymore in common language but it is associated with a holy place administrated by the church.

I can confirm the Hebrew is correct it is H2022 in Strongs Hebrew Dictionary if you wish to look it up! I am from the UK not Norway! I did look it up and could only find Fjell, which would make Haarland an Amazing Fjeller, or Man Mountain!😀

@@thelittlesignpost After some thinking, I did realize that skar is actually something we are using. It isnt the most common thing to say and it isnt exactly meaning mountain. We have two languages in Norway. The one I am using is the modern version but in the older version, they say skar in some dialects. The exact meaning is something similar to mountain pass. The common use would be "fjellpass". Also, the old way of saying it is skard so I didnt catch it right away. Still, in some dialects they make the d silent so they say "skar". All of it makes sense though as we use the term skaer (skjær) in the modern version of the language for mountain pass, canyon and sheer.

I'm 58 and a lifelong City fan, by far the worst coverage is from City Xtra. The first goal was a freak, the way they piled onto the City players after Palace's second goal was appalling, almost like watching rivals. My own response at the time was 'well that's a bit weird' and at no point did I feel we wouldn't win this match. I'm not a delusional type, I have been there through the 35 years of pain and understand what I am seeing now. City Xtra is consistently poor.
