FFI Ropes & Knots - Hoisting an Uncharged Hose Line

STEPS
1. Tie a figure eight on a bight.
2. Fold the hoseline back three feet from the nozzle onto itself.
3. Form a girth hitch by taking the bight in both hands and spreading your hands apart. Twist the two sides away from you and pull inward.
4. Pass the hitch around the hoseline and nozzle and pull tight
5. Place a half hitch around the hose 6 inches from the nozzle and a second half hitch near the hose hold.
The nozzle can now be hoisted via the rope.
