Never saw this before. Seems like a good option if the hip bump fails. Thanks!

I’m a pretty good wrestler and I always get caught in the kimura. I’m learning to keep my hands clasped as we go down, but this helps me look out of the kimura.

The issue I personally encountered here when grabbing the kimura grip after the initial bump is that the opponent grabs my other arm that is posting on the mat, and so I get stuck. Or they clash their hands together wrapping my back. I hope this makes sense. What would you suggest to do in these scenarios? Thank you:) PS: I love your technique and the way you teach❤

hey Ffion thank you for the tutorial. for what reason the other girl can't give you a Kimura or whatever arm/shoulder lock at 2:10 ? or do you just have to be quicker than your opponent? I'm pretty new so forgive me if that's a dumb question.

Because Peyton's wrist and shoulder are pretty much immobilised even at this stage?

Seems a little silly when you could already hip bump sweep from here
@lisanguyen8818 ай бұрын
Because when the opponent bases their back foot out as the defence it makes it harder to complete the hip bump sweep as she explained.. also it makes sense when you watch the match she's referring to so not silly at all 😊
@lambosnicko9 ай бұрын
Yeah but who lays in that position and doesn’t have their free arm on the floor for base in the direction your rolling? Seems like a great move in practice but with proper resistance i don’t see this working.
@seu754e5rjdjf79 ай бұрын
Mind-numbingly ignorant comment. You're talking to a black belt world champ who hit the very move in competition at the highest levels. You can expect that her opponents--also high-level black belts--have a pretty good idea of how to defend things like e.g. a hip bump sweep. To actually answer your white belt question, the reason you don't post "that free arm on the floor for base" is because it opens up a ton of space for the attacker to pull that leg out and immediately attack a triangle with that leg across the neck.
@lambosnicko9 ай бұрын
@@seu754e5rjdjf7 you aren’t attacking a triangle when you have the arm held in the shoulder lock grip like that 😂
@allieoco9 ай бұрын
With that arm posting on the floor you would just go for the kimura. They didn’t post because they were defending the kimura with some sort of grip
