No, Ultima was introduced in FF2 and did not make a return until 6. They did put it on the 3D remake of FF4 though.

Unfortunately, aside from summons, all spell animations have been reused in all Pixel Remasters.

@@stardustsddI was so excited for newer spell animations for each gane since they were too expensive for just 2D remasters… and now I found out they’re just recycled…

@@xamuca22 Unfortunately, yes. Magic in FF2 has 4 different animations (for damaging magic and cure), and they start using a new one at levels 1, 3, 6 and 10. What they did is that level 1 reuses the animation for fire, 3 for fira and 10 for firaga. Only for level 6 did they make unique animations that I have not seen on any of the other Pixel Remasters. The only other unique thing are the animations for levels 1, 3 and 6 for Flare and Holy, since level 10 uses the ones from the other games. I imagine that that will be the case with Ultima as well, with FFVI PR using the animation for Ultima level 10 from FF2 PR, but we'll see. In any case, very lazy.

@@stardustsdd Yes man why they did that. They got all the trouble and time to make a pixel remaster and get lazy qith spells animations? One of the things that hooks me in a rpg is the spells animations and every version has differences and thats is a big plus. I love FFVI spell animations i hope they dont do that. Rrally disapointed.

They really should have made an 8-bit NES style cool demake with an 8-bit soundtrack instead! This is ugly, awkward and too similar to the other versions, but with less content. The soundtrack is dulled in my opinion. A realistic 3D remake in the style of FFX, FFX-2, FFVII Remake and FFXVI would be so badass since FFV is my favorite Final Fantasy! The active turn based battle system is one of my favorites since it still feels very epic and hectic with a perfect amount of chill unlike the completely turn based frozen battles of FFX. 💕
