@@byron2012there’s an accessory called “Enhanced Expeditionary Medal”. You could unlock the Transmuter Chip that crafts this accesory by completing the Six-Person Bout: Harmony of Discord combat challenge in the Musclehead Colosseum minigame at Gold Saucer. Once you finish that, craft the enhanced version, and it starts you with Level 3 limit

I had no mp left on Cloud leading into this fight, and quite honestly I was finding it a real pain on hard mode, but was getting good at perfect blocks for the phase 1 moveset. Decided to try out hp-mp swap for the first time. Eventually figured out you can spam the limit if you time it's use when you are expected to take damage. Bit of a cop out, but once I knew that it honestly made the fight a breeze. I have no idea what the record is for Rufus, but I was shocked I completed it in what felt like well under 2 minutes.

haha that is awesome! Yup, it’s a high risk high reward item. I was also really shocked too that your limit increases when using it and taking hits during the limit. It’s prob gonna be the meta for speedruns. nonetheless, I love the item, it’s just fun to destroy bosses with haha.

@@CarnivorePaulwhen you have hp-mp swap equipped your limit gauge fills significantly faster when you either take damage or perfect block attacks. Obviously taking damage is not an option as one strike would be an instant death, and learning Rufus' Moveset well enough to perfect block the entire fight is a tall order. The cheat however is to activate your limit just before an enemy hits you. During your limit animation your character is invincible so all strikes you take actually refill your limit gauge and you take no damage. So essentially after you beat down Rufus, you come out of the limit animation with another full limit bar...hence you can spam your limit strikes and kill him and darkstar in under 2 minutes. You will need to perfect block one or two of his attacks at the beginning to fill your gauge initially. Then activate Cloud's limit right before Rufus hits you, and it's best to do this during one of his more powerful attacks, some of his basic attacks will only partially refill your gauge requiring you to perfect block again to fill the remaining portion. So yeah, you should always have a limit break available and can spam the ability until the fight is won. My final tip is to use Cloud's Lv3 limit Finishing Touch, as there is a longer animation before Cloud makes his first strike. Having that pause is great as it allows Rufus to land a few hits on you before being interrupted, which increases the likelihood your gauge will be refilled entirely. You can still do this method with Cross Slash and Ascension, but you will need to be tighter with your limit activation time to ensure Rufus gets some hits in. You can equip that accessory that gives you Level 3 at the beginning of the fight. Good luck :)

Nice use of Disorder, the guides I've seen use triple slash but this seems much better. Maybe do a video without limits to show how to do phase 2?

Thank you! Yeah disorder seems better. I do have a hard mode no materia no limit vid that shows how to easily finish phase 2! Will be uploading that soon. Phase 2 is a little more wild haha.

Triple slash is better for long distances, and Disorder is better for mid-close range. Just make sure you’re not already in punisher mode before using it.

@@RE_Prince_Vegeta and it puts you in punisher mode to you can actually build stagger! I’m gonna be real and say I legit never used punisher mode since I saw it was changed from remake but started using it for the legendary and brutal challenges lol
