Hey man, this came out great and your stream was awesomely educational. Now I feel bad about making requests... almost. What kind of format do you need to do your conversions (like for the FFVII/VIII conversions)? Is it only midi or do .wav files work? Asking for future reference so I can know what to have ready.

@@petercampi2840 Depends on what you mean. If you mean, how do I get my files in order to do my remixes, I rip them straight from the game files. In the case of PS1, that's .psf, PS2 is .psf2, DS is .nds, & so on. And then, even beyond that, it depends on whether the music in the files is saved in a midi format, or is just compressed streamed audio, as in .mp3, .ogg, .adx or .wav. Those are unusable. Breaks my heart when I come across those, lol.

Yeah, I did that intentionally. The original has a baseline that just played that same note over and over, so I added in the same lower notes you'd hear in a classic FF battle theme.

I did the same with a Star Ocean track a couple weeks back, and I actually used the FFIV soundfont for that one.
