For this I'm actually using pretty basic gear. Regular Kendatsuba set with standard accessories. Really the only big thing here is the Relic Weapon but You should be able to accomplish this same setup in just Mummu +2 gear from ambu and a Gokotai on this difficulty.

@@NextGamesGuide I actually managed with the Katana you recommend with a set of +2 Hizmaru gear and the ninja Aeonic and lots of patience. Although my Sel'teus died anyway...and of course no drop, but I needed it for last month's HTMB fight for the Monthly objective.

If you're struggling to make the DEF check for Zantetsuken X, def food is useful, Brygid (the trust) is awesome, too. Pair her with an ATK down debuff like Aisha, and even your trusts won't die!

If you have it yes I'd throw as much as TH4 in gear on during just one of your rounds of attacks, I always did. If nothing else it makes me feel like I'm doing all I can. :)

You should still be able to do it on this difficulty but may take a few more minutes. Get the Ambuscade weapon fully upgraded and it should work fine. I will say the drop rate on this difficulty is horrible so that would be the larger concern.

@@NextGamesGuide while I appreciate the reply, getting a fully upgraded ambuscade weapon is just about as hard as a Rema for me lmao I'm told I can't solo getting a prime weapon to turn into the ambuscade weapon and don't have the Gil to pay for help xD used it all buying that damn su5 nin weapon thinking it was the best I was gonna get if i can't do a Rema lol rip

Hey man how do you get your party log to look like that ? I use windower and havent been able to find how to change the log.

I split the log using the regular FFXI interface but I bet you are referring to how the log is giving information. That is the Battlemod addon under windower as Corey already mentioned. I'll be doing a video shortly on the Windower addon's I use as I seem to get lots of questions on which ones I use. If that doesn't help let me know. Thanks for watching!

I just tried this on Mlvl 30 THF and He couldn't hit me at all except for Geirrothr which killed me. Maybe I could try this on NIN but it's not geared or mastered like my THF is.

You really shouldn't need mastery or anything he's quite easy to manage on this difficulty on Ninja. Give it a try!

I'm 0/32 on any drops for VE. Are the drop rates actually lower than lillith, lmao?? Is it in fact possible to get gere ring on VE?

VE drop rate is definitely significantly lower then Lilith on this one sadly. I was never able to get my Gere to drop on VE after over 100 attempts. I ended up having to do this on Normal Solo with Red Mage to get my drops from this guy. That being said I do have subscribers who did use this to get Gere so it's NOT impossible, just extremely rare.

how are you surviving zantetsuken X? I keep getting ko'd to it otherwise its easy fight

I've been watching some other video's on higher difficulties and it appears that surviving it may be defense related. Meaning if your defense is below a certain number you die, if it's above a certain number you take damage instead. Now I've never had it KO me so I can only assume that with Protect from Yoran my defense is high enough. Are you on Ninja? If so maybe try Aisha to lower his attack (no idea if this works but worth a shot). Also maybe try putting up Defender if you are /war to see if that helps. If your on another job I would try things that make your defense higher. Hope that helps, would be interested to hear your results.

NextGames I did figure it out. It is defense based, this is probably why selhetues can survive his defense is high enough. I used defense food and defender at 50% till he used zantetsuken. Then I switched to berserk and finished him quickly. I didn’t use shantoto I used Brigid instead for pdt since she can’t die

@@redmage4life647 I'd be really interested in hearing how that goes. I couldn't do it as he spams dread spikes on easy which hit me for 1000+ dmg but if you could dispel those I think it may be doable.
