FFXIII Quick way to farm Adamantoises (no summons) HD

This strategy requires you to practically be done with the Crystarium (meaning everyone is level 5 in all roles) and you must have Tier 2 weapons equipped along with very high strength and magic boosting accessories. You also need the Genji Gloves (breaks damage limit) , and I recommend equipping a Collector's Catalogue to increase the chances of obtaining Platinum Ingots. Make sure Fang has the Genji Gloves equipped or else you won't kill the legs in one hit.
Have the party consisting of Fang, Hope, and Vanille and have these Paradigms:
Rapid Growth (SYN/SYN/SYN)
Tri-disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV)
Discretion (COM/MED/MED)
Assassination (SAB/RAV/SAB)
Cerberus (COM/COM/COM)
When the battle begins, manually caste Bravera and Faithra on the party. When this is done, switch to Tri-disaster and stagger one of the legs. When its staggered, get its stagger percentage above 450% and then switch to Discretion. Use Highwind, which will KO the leg, and then switch back to Tri-disaster and do the same thing with the other leg.
When the Adamantoise falls over, switch to Assassination and caste Slow and Imperil while Vanille will cast Deprotect and Deshell. When this is done switch to Tri-disaster and stagger the Adamantoise. Stay with this Paradigm until his stagger percentage is above 900%; getting it to 999% would be much better but anything above 900% is good enough.
Now switch to Cerberus and kill the Adamantoise. This strategy also works with Adamantortoise, the weaker versions of the Adamantoise.
Note that if you are having troubles with this strategy, you simply are not strong enough. Fang must have over 2,500 strength for Highwind to KO the legs and Vanille and Hope should also be around 2,500 magic.
This is one of the faster methods of killing Adamantoises and is great for farming Platinum Ingots (which you can sell for 150,000 Gil, great for farming Gil) and Trapezohedrons, which are required to create Tier 3 weapons.

Best Tutorial. I loved it and remember perfecting this. Smash both legs real quick while buffing yourself then debuff and smash it in one knockdown. I remember getting them dead in about 50 seconds.

@770megaman i can explain: First you have to have 1 weapon. Lets say:Lionheart for an example is level 1.Once you level it up to the max and use a transformation catalyst,it will turn into ultima weapon.Max out ultima weapon and then you will get the option to use trapohezedron,and you get omega weapon.Its exactly the same for every class.

My setup is similar except i use Lightning instead of Hope (slightly different equipement too). I use gaian ring for defense. It is Little more risky since my Crystarium isn't full yet. Ill try this method once it is!

@Waveking95 yes that is correct. one piece of advice: don't try this method of this video yet. if you wanna take down adamantortoises, use vannille spell death along with summon. And also master your main roles before leveling up the other ones. every character has an unique ability, just keep expanding =)

If you're looking for maximum time efficiency, it's important to note that you can stagger both legs while in Tri-Disaster and then have Fang Highwind them one right after another. Also, Hope is a poor choice for a Rav in this scenario since his casting time is horribly slow when compared to some others (namely Light and and Snow). Fang in Rav is better off spamming Lightning for its instant cast speed (similar to Ruin) rather than auto-chain. At this point, Fang/Light/Snow is the way to go.

@AshAsmodeus it doesnt work all the time since it depends on luck, and when u wanna farm lots of these oversized turtles for a trapezohedron, you will need to kill a larger sample size of them in a certain period of time to see a better drop rate.

@danewheeler know how you feel. I had the same trouble trying to get Death to stick to Neochu, for the Growth Egg. I've heard of people getting it in their first 5 or so tries, and that just pisses me off personally, because it took me three days of trying, about 5 hours+ each day, before it struck. Ugh... haha. Never had trouble with getting it to work on these, but eh. Know how you feel, still.

@coolguy10221 enables you to do 999,999 damage one of them is from attacus from titans trials and another from mission 63 and another from mission 62 beating one of those missions gets you the genji glove

Tip: Once it Staggered, use Death skill. It may increase the chance up to 5%. This is my absolute way of farming Trapezohedron. 😉

I beat him!! and i figured something else out, the Mission 63 Adam staggers at 250% and the ones just walking around in Gran Pulse stagger at 300 and go to 400% so they're easier to kill with this strategy :)

@RandyOrton595 Took me a week to get the growth Egg, and as for farming for rare items,I'm haivng terrible luck, even with the catalouges equipped, I wish there was a way to edit saves, or a cheat device available, I've beaten the game, even gotten a 5 star ranking agaisnt orphan, but trying to earn gil is impossible, thankfully XIII-2 will have monsters that drop gil after battle

I have my characters almost maxed, great gear, and tried every combination (and I have always been big on Sab and Syn magics) yet I still cannot seem to get these things to die in less than 45-50 minutes. I spent countless hours on these things and still cannot get a single Trapezohedron. In fact I have almost made enough gil doing this to buy one. But I would still like the drop so I don'e waste gil I could use to lvl the weapon.

@TheeFreakiishlyz (I am pro86fan, just my other account) For me that was fine, what is pissing me off is that my characters are all fully upgraded in crystarium but I still have to keep killing adamantoises /adamantortoises to gain money, to upgrade my weapons and stuff, and that is a pain in the ass. I liked when we received money each battle, not just selling stuff. Apart from that, a great game, but to receive the platinum trophy we must kill the same enemies over and over and over. that sukz

I am sorry to tell you that you can not increase the rate of the platinum ingot drop it os always 25%. You should only use the Connosier catalogue or how ever it is spelled. But that will only increase the Trapazahedron rate by .5%. So if you get 5 stars the platinum ingot will be 25% no matter the rank but Trapazahedron will be 5.5%.

Is there a reason that you have average stat boost accesories on your characters? (not trying to sound like a douche here). I mean with your ability to farm ingots/traps you could easily make enough money to max those wristbands/marks and then evolve them into Kaiser knuckles etc.etc for much more damage. Is there a legitimate reason to keep the accessories low?
