@@john_7000 lol I'm gonna have to disagree as a brand new ff14 player. Sounds like you're just hating. The free trial just got resumed and I've just begun playing. It honestly feels rather intriguing compared to say WoW or Lost Ark. That said, the graphics definitely are dated.

I may have gotten this wrong, but was the intro basically Naoki Yoshida destroying FF14 1.0 and making it canon to Realm Reborn.

That's exactly what it was, there's a really good KZbin documentary on it, I can't remember the name of it (sorry) but it shows how when they decided they were going to make the game from the ground up, that's when dalamud started to get bigger in the sky. Brilliant

The significance of what's happening in the video is amazing too.. i didn't play the original but what you're seeing is the original failed ffxiv 1.0 being destroyed by bahamut. If you haven't already search for "the fall and rise of ffxiv" by speakers network, really well done documentary on how it all happened and how it transformed from a failed game to ffxiv 2.0 😁

Not sure, i think it must be a special arrangement, i clicked through it and it sounds like it has a bit of b answers mixed in there somewhere with the original ff theme

@@Justinbadger4 i guess the cinematic would have been made long before 2.0 released as promotion for 2.0 and therefore the music didn't make it into any official ost. I dunno if it'll work but maybe download my video as audio and go up lalal.ai and try and strip the track out, usually that's used to ai strip vocals away from music so it MIGHT work to strip the action sounds away from the bgm

Why does every Final fantasy's plot is about crystals?

It has it's roots going back to the plot of the first game in the series, Final Fantasy (1987).

It's a cool core tenent of the series. Airships, a 'Cid', chocobos and more often than not (FFX didn't have them) crystals.

Then again, there's often some cool way they appear. Dunno about FF1 and 2, but I know 3, 4 and 5 had them. In 6 you had magicite, in 7 materia, in 8 I don't think there was much. There was this grand crystal that's the origin of the world in 9, and in 10 you have spheres, and more than likely the fayth can be perceived as some form of crystal. No idea in 11, 12 had Giruvegan, Magicite and Nethecite. FF13 was a big return of crystals.

@@Reynsoon If you haven't played FFI, Final Fantasy I had crystals and the scope was to get them so that the Warriors of Light could return back in time to resolve a never-ending cycle...About the grindy Final Fantasy II....It didn't had anything to do about crystals(it only had the Crystal Rod as an item to get the best spell in the game for whoever you made a mage), just a plot about a Rebellion Army and Emperor Mateus
