Thank you for this! I play on PC and my MMO mouse has been causing me pain lately because the desk is probably too high. I purchased a PS4 controller to switch things up and for comfier things like MSQ and gathering. It's so much more comfortable and I main Black Mage--can't wait until I'm comfortable enough to do Stormblood alliance raids on controller :D ...my keyboard is right there so typing to friends is really easy as well

Yeah you can save a slot by macroing ley lines and between the lines together, super convenient, between the lines can’t be used until ley lines has been cast, ley lines has a long cooldown so you can keep pressing the same macro button to repeatedly use between the lines without issue

I am following along your set up guide as I'm pretty new to the game overall, and completely new to playing on controller. I work away almost every week so I decided to just force myself to learn controller so I could keep on playing on my PS5 when I'm in hotels. I see you have Enochian on your hotbar... I was wondering how you got that there as it won't let me add that trait to my hotbar?

Yes, exactly, and I'll be revisiting the black mage here with the changes in endwalker soon, but the goal is for when I need to move. That being said, I've been planning out some changes for the updated Black mage :)

It’s great AOE rotation some BLM don’t go into blizzard before fire for the reduced cast time on fire spells. Other than blizzard 2 which isn’t as useful due to its range at later content stages for so I did remove it from my AOE rotation this is very helpful with cross hot bar usage.

Ginger Prime I hope they also change fire 2 that’s skill isn’t quite useful for later content clearing when you can cast flare without burning your whole MP pool and foul.

I've been trying to do black mage and it's a hard class when it comes to heavy hitting combos. I've always heard that black is top of dps. It would be nice to find a step by step move rotation.

@@GingerPrimeGaming My only question is that I dont know how to get that double cross bar above your normal hotbar. When I set my settings like you have them, it only shows one cross per side, where as you have two per side. In addition to this, when I do the double tap to try and access the 2nd crossbar it does give me, it wont let me use any of the abilities. Any advice on how to solve this issue? Thanks! :)

Ah yes, so sorry I didn't show this off in the video... Under Character Config > hotbar > custom, then you'll shoose the option for WXHB to display the Up/Down/Left/Right buttons too.

What's the other macro used on your Blm build? Returning player and I know it maybe ties with freeze? Love your guides man def best by far!

They removed the macro requirement for freeze which is nice but the macro was /ac Freeze which had it target at the feet of your selected target.

You don't bind traits, enochain used to be an ability, but in Endwalker it is a trait so you don't bind it anymore :)

As a wow lifetime wow player of all classes and specs on all types of content.... Playing this on a controller is frightening. I'm trying, currently level 32 BLM, having hell adjusting to the targeting, the ui and in rotations in general. I miss k&m... Dam frozen shoulder 😢.

You have to assign it to the linked hotbar, you can't drag and drop onto it. If it's linked to say 3, then you have to assign them to 3.

Few questions: 1. It won't let you place them anywhere, or just on the WXHB? 2. or is it your hotbars that won't accept the binding. if 1. be sure to place them on the linked hotbar (mine is 3) as the one that shows up on screen is just a preview into the hotbar if 2. make sure hotbar 1 is visible and unlocked, otherwise it won't let you place things on hotbars if they are locked. Honestly, I think the challenging aspect of BLM only comes up in high end content where you need to plan out where to stand and what to cast at any moment. It’s hard for me to be convinced with you not doing any Svg or Ult fights.

Black mage is referred to as BLM in game so not intentional with the connection to Black Lives Matter, but intential to align with the game. You’ll see gubbrraker already listed as GNB and warrior will be WAR
