I feel like the Ascian were not that awesome after SHB, Meteion was a joke to me. Some little girl pops up as an OP god that is sad no other society in the starts lasted forever? With no mention of her till EW? Nah. I always wanted all the Ascian to show up in a dungeon or raid and we bare knuckle box with them as the world seemed to come to an end.

I made a community post a couple of years back proposing the idea of getting such wings as a mount. I doubt that they read my post specifically and i know that this is something a lot of players wanted as well, but it feels so incredible special to have something added to the game you have wanted for such a long time. I will farm those extrems till either i have those wings or the heat death of the universe XD

Them making a big deal out of Tural and Solution 9 both being in the same game was kind of odd to me. Sir, this is your fifth expansion. Yes, we know this game is both fantasy and sci fi. We had Heavensward which had a classical fantasy kingdom fighting dragons AND the Aetherochemical ARR ends with Praetorium. Research Facility. We took a space ship to the edge of the universe last expansion. It's good that you have variety here, don't get me wrong, but nobody who has been playing this game should be shocked at seeing a sci fi area. Curious about how it fits in, sure, but not shocked.

Shocked about it, no. Disappointed, heavily. Because as you said, its the fifth expansion. So anyone that plays also knows that one area takes over the other. Just like Stormblood where Ala Mhigo got sidelined for the Japanese aesthetic of Kugane the entire expansion, Solution 9 having a huge raid dedicated to it and its best gear focused on it, Solution also being the main hub world, im not too happy. The game is best when in its fantasy setting, and to know that Solution 9's aesthetic is going to overshadow the island adventure were get doesnt make me excited.

@@UltimegaSeven Solution 9 is one of two hubs. The other being Tuliloyal. As for how things pan out we'll have to wait and see. Tuliloyal is still the 'Kugane' of this expansion while solution 9 is the 'Rhalgrs Reach' gameplay wise. Ishgard never got overshadowed despite the Alexander raid having more to do with Idylshire. Kugane is a weird example because it was never all that important to either Doma or Gyr Abania. More of a pit stop on the way to Othard. Eulmore didn't overshadow the Crystarium. Thavnair did overshadow Sharlyan in the post patch story, but certainly did not in the 6.0 msq.

I’d even just be fine if we only get it for other accessories (earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc.) that, by itself, would free up a TON of space in the glamour dresser for, actual clothes

what was the problem with implementing the transmog? I remember they asked them something about it in an interview and yoshida said it wasn’t possible, am i remembering wrong

@@25cats I believe It has to do with how data is transfered from and to the players/servers/backend that stores your info, a core pillar of how the game is built and ran. If they were to implement something like wow's transmog with the current architecture, It'd probably kill the servers much like a DDoS attack does. This is mostly conjecture on my part though.

@@ich3730 several issues. 1. You have to remember that FFXIV, as we know it today, wasn’t just, made. It’s literally built on the remnants of 1.0, and therefore has to contend with a lot of the systems, issues, and limitations that came with it. They can be worked around, and have been, but it’s still a limiting factor 2. In regards to that being in mind, 1.0 released in September 30th of 2010, and the transmog system didn’t debut for WOW until November of 2011. So the systems in question that current FFXIV devs have to work around were already well in place at that point, including Glamour. Now, that doesn’t entirely make sense, since glamour didn’t come out until 2014, but the way it’s been explained (and I’m not an expert by any means so bear with me) is that for some reason, FFXIV’s game system has to load check and reload every single piece of inventory you have, every single time it changes zones and instances. That includes your glamour chests, retainers, chocobo saddlebag, etc, even in instances and settings where you can’t immediately access these things. WHY it needs to do that? Couldn’t tell you. That’s the remnant of 1.0 they need to work around for whatever reason. But the way glamour works now, your glamour is attached to a hidden inventory slot, and your entire glamour chest is part of that “everything that needs to be reloaded every instance”. So for a transmog system to be done, the game would have to, literally, reload and resistance *every single piece of gear in the entire game*, every single time you traveled between zones.

So excited for all the new updates and really want to get the wing mounts. (TLDR: below is I cry because leather chair.) I want that chair with the job magnets. It's such a cool design. Unfortunately ever chair I like the design from secretlabs it's always frickin leather. I've messaged them of my I want to give you money please make it fabric. I hate leather chairs especially when you sit on them with shorts. I also have cats. I can repair fabric with an upholstery needle if they happen to get a claw in it, but leather you can't hide any damage. Every promotion chair I have been tempted to get as soon as I see it's leatherette I cry and close the webpage. Yes I could get a cover for it, but that defeats the purpose of getting a FFXIV chair.

Haven't been excited about an expansions story in a while, i like how they kept it spoiler free idk whats gonna happen once we get there tbh. Tural also looks beautiful, the mountains and the gorgeous vistas got me pumped to explore and run around the new zones! the graphics update did wonders for the game, can't wait till they drop PS4 support to see how far they can push it next.

It occurs to me that they haven't mentioned a trial series have they? I wonder if that means if all of the trials will be MSQ related like in ARR/EW Or if it's just a bit early for them to get into it because the trial series in the HW/SB/SHB style wouldn't truly start until 7.2 so they just wouldn't announce it at fanfest. I forget when they announced the warring triad/four lords/weapons stories.

Really cool that Nanjo will be making an apearance. She's also the voice of Suzaku, and did the vocals in the BGM for that fight. I wonder if she will voice another boss fight in DT. She was probably super happy to see Krile being a lead character this expansion She is primarily known for her idol work as Eli from Love Live, and singing the opening/ending theme songs of various anime as part of the group fripSide

24:50 I can't tell you how happy I am to finally be able to delete the inconsiderate players who stand on top of NPC from view. I wish I didn't need this option but too many players are self centered or are actively trying to troll others and ruin their fun. This fixes that problem.

Multiple civilisations have come and gone before the current date and time in the story of FF14. People don't really understand just how long a timespan of 12 thousand years is. We are LUCKY to know the Alagans even existed. Even luckier to know anything about Mhach. There are numerous other civilisatiosn that are completely forgotten.

I've always associated Arcadion raids with the R prefix, anyway. We already have A for Alexander, and if voiced, Arcadion sounds very R. Doubly justified if they name each duty as Round 1, 2, etc. No doubts on calling them R1, R2, etc.

The Sci-fi gear is currently looking to be the Raid gear. The gear shown immediately beforehand though (The Adventure/Viper-esque gear) is the tomestone gear.
