This instance itself is bad, the plot behind it is even worse. Like my character can be killed at anytime by that fan-daniel guy? All he needs to do is teleport next to me, and I could be dead, all these time lol. Plot be damned.

@@Zaffie- That's fine, I understand there will be plenty of players who like it. But those examples are both optional content geared to players who enjoy that content, that you can engage in whenever you feel like it and avoid when you don't. I don't think it's a good idea to force this on everyone who wants to enjoy the story because it's not the core gameplay experience. I'm cool with challenging dungeons and trials in the main story because those are the core gameplay experiences. Throwing in a challenging stealth mission is akin to throwing in a challengin racing game or challenging soccer game. Sure, that kind of stuff might be fun in i's own way but why is it in my RPG? They might as well make Triple Triad a duty and make it really hard to beat the NPC, as I find that fun. But similarly, a lot of people would hate it because that's not what they play this game for.

This expansion isn't that good compare to the last one really, to me. And I thought for my trouble for this solo duty that is something epic after, but no... everything went on like nothing happened, wtf? In the last expansion there are at least some rules of engagement, like the bad guy has to use deception infront of the warrior of light, but in this expansion, I can be killed at anytime now all the bad guy needs is show up near me and I could be dead??? Plot be damned.

i feel that way too. im not done w it yet but its been pretty rough. super bummer too. like shadowbringers was dark in a gothic way but this one is just war and famine which is too real and too sad omg. ill take psychological torture any day over having a gameplay segment have to be frustrating just for plot reasons. at least the music and graphics kick ass tho lol

IMO all (every single one) of the 'you must play some random dude' duties are utter trash. I have hated them all, especially as they're roadblocks to the MSQ. I loathe them.

So after spending the first 10 fucking minutes wandering around trying to figure what to do I finally randomly stumble upon this magitek armor. Then spend the next 10 minutes trying to find the fuel tank and fail. I do it again and die again trying to find the fuel tank and have to start over because I only manage to find 2 health kits. Now I have to do it again. The person who designed this should never be allowed to design another duty ever again. It's trash. If I had to rate this expansion right now it's by far the worst of all of them. So far it's been tedious at it's best moments and downright annoying for the rest of it. I really hope it gets better because It's been a chore just getting to this point.

This quest is so dumb. In the last expansion that is ACTUALLY well made, the bad guy confess multiple time they cannot best me. But in this expansion the lackey can just port to me and put me out and potentially kill me at any time? And right after this dumb quest, its like nothing happened. The plot thus far isn't that great, and this totally put me off. So dumb

Thanks for this Jeff. I 've been on Free Trial for awhile now and just recently sub. Never had problems with MSQ related instances until today. 15 deaths now. Kinda regret starting EW. I should have stayed in ShB. I dread doing my MSQ now.

thanks managed to do it on normal took me 6 attempts as soon as I got unnecessary agro I decided to wipe and start again 1st half is the worst but the 2nd half is pretty much easy just make sure you don't waste your kits

first blind run i was able to refuel and get the magi tech id card. at this point my hearts racing from dodging patrols and i just start fucking launching attacks at the hoard. next thing i know i got no more attacks and the horde respawns and comes right at me and my only available skill is to hop out. of course i fucking die with 9 minutes left to go. why is it always like this lol i swear every instance i die and have to start over on easy and watch a guide edit: bro u don’t show what to do when ur in the magitek that’s where i died lol

I've never completed an FFXIV instance on anything on other than Normal difficulty. I always complete it on Normal - including this one. It took me a while to figure this one out on a blind run. Once you figure it out, it's actually not that hard. But' it's so frustrating if you don't know what to do. I've recorded it and may upload it later. I screwed up on the quick time event the first time I encountered it near the end - I wasn't expecting it - and smashed the buttons on my keyboard, including the Enter key, a huge NO NO. Your guide will help others.

I started this game 4 months ago, have put about 450 hours in and have loved every second of it. Today with this quest was the first time I was like "This is Trash". It's made me look at the whole EW so far and "Good storytelling" is only gonna get it so far. If every 3 minutes I'm having to escort, stalk, and or play a incredibly simplistic npc moveset after putting in so much time to have your character with all the abilities they have. Shadowbringers is shaping up to be the apex so far. I can't wait to be in the endgame and done with this bs

Awful beyond words in my opinion. On very easy setting and having now done it on more than one char, I'd say it's not even that hard. That doesn't mean it's not horrible though. It's obviously put in there with the intention players failing it multiple times, and thus slowing their progress a bit to stop too many people just bum rushing through the MSQ. And fwiw, I think they also moved/put in a fuel supply tank just a short walk from the magitek you need it for. Meaning both the key AND fuel aren't far away. Basically.. walk in the opposite direction from the gathered enemies. In a dead straight line from the magitek needing fuel. And you will find fuel there.
