Gun breakers have a 900 potency self heal when under half (or 20 seconds prepared ahead), and 200 potency 18s hot that gets 2 stacks. It's much improved in that sense from Shadowbringer

I've saved a whole fight as RDM before. Full party, 8 members, everyone but me and a dragoon died. He came on clutch holding the boss while I rezzed every single person in the party. It was stressful, but I got like all the coms at the end, and we beat the boss. I can't rightly remember what it was we were doing. I think it was a raid, but I can't be sure it was so long ago

I still out parse most people in PF, so it's all gravy to me. No way is Ninja the only C tier job with Dancer existing in its current form. That along kinda makes a joke of this whole tier list. At the end of the day Dancer is the only job that truly handicaps good players.

It's not that defense is less valuable, but basically all tanks have enough utility and survivability for end game content if you play them and equip them well. If you maintain this assumption, at that point, the primary meaningful difference between them is how much damage they do. This is valued a lot by people, because it means faster runs.

I haven't played Endwalker, but watched a couple vids. For SMN wouldn't it be better to have three crystals to summon any of the Egis? Like you can summon Ifrit three times for maxing single target damage. Have Titan for AOE but have it give shields to the X number of party members in range (or lowest HP). Then Garuda for AOE with high potency, or lower potency but have it heal X party members in range (or lowest HP). Just thinking that it must feel kinda bad to be forced to pop Titan and Garuda on a single target. What do the SMN players feel about the current rotation? What could push it to S-Rank besides more potency.

SMN's have both a single target and AoE for all their summons. Our current rotation works great our overall potency just needs a little boost and something needs to be done with Physick.

The PLD is being made to be a solid OT which is fine, but as I've been saying for years now and will keep saying it, give the PLD back their rez. They are the utility tank but lack the last bit of utiltity a rez.

PLD is the only tank cant break p4s striking dummy with ilvl580 (most of them werent cardfted), when i broke it with all tanks, speaking as someone got rank 37 in 5.4 as pld

Week 2 or 3 are better to make a real tier list. Here my opinion : BLM is still on top in caster, the reason RDM is so popular week 1 is for prog only with the instant raise they have. SMN going to get potency buff imo. BRD is top range right now with good dps and giving party buff compare to mch dps. DNC is DNC, not the best but every dps love to be partner. MNK is better than RPR but RPR is easier. Both prob gonna have a small potency nerf or SAM going to have a small tweek/buff to catch up to them. DRG seems to be in a good place rn. NIN tweek was good but there's a good chance to receive a small potency buff. DRK is prob the best sub tank and war/pld are good main tank. GNB pretty much in between. I dont know much of healer but they seems pretty balance in utility. May need a slight dmg buff on some but i dont know them enough.. i hear whm have MP problem but it might be player issue too.. cant say.

I think most mana issues will iron out once people get the Savage gear, thing is that neither tomestones or Pandaemonium normal gear are properly optimized so you end up below a comfortable PIE level(I think i lay at around 990 when Id pref to be around 1024 for 100% GCD use as SCH)... especially for WHM due to their cast speed buff and no real MP recoveries outside of Lucid Dream(+500 mp each 45 s. from Assize). WHM requires more PIE then is resonable on most 580 gear, however the 590/600 set comes with a better stat line up as far as Mp is considered. Most healers atm. ain't comfortable melding PIE, given how relatively weak most heals are we need the determination and crit to increase our output. Heal potencies however scale really well with MND, so most issues we have today will be solved naturally I believe.

Glad to see I accidentally chose a really solid dps as my first (and currently only!) job. i picked monk because beating up monsters with my own two fists sounded fun, and I'm a weeb so the whole chakra thing seemed interesting. Now that they did a rework of the class and make chakra available earlier/streamlined a lot of their rotations (by removing the positional requirements and overall buffing the base damage), it's so much more fun to play, and it seems they shot up pretty far in terms of the dps and utility they bring to the table

Sorry I should've been more clear in the video! By utility I mean bringing extras like Reaper healing the raid with Arcane Crest or Red Mage's bringing Verraise. DPS boosts like Trick Attack are already factored into the rDPS comparison :)

@@lsmith604 because dancer brings utility. And you cant compare ninja to dancer. Dancer is a physical ranged. Ninja is competing with reaper and monk. Its down right griefing to join as a ninja atm

@@MrBoston1630 I can confirm with 100% certainty that you don't know what you're talking about. The gap between Bard and Dancer is way bigger than the gap between Reaper/Monk and Ninja. To say joining as a Ninja is 'griefing' either speaks to bad players you've played with or you're simply making stuff up. All this to say that even a good Dancer can still clear Savage. There is no job so undertuned they can't clear Savage right now.

these tier lists are always very typically the same and by that its usually "well dancer doesnt do damage and reaper does a shit ton" like of course because they gave reaper a shit ton of potency with no restrictions and refuse to let dancers actually have good damage bc their utility is good.. meanwhile red mage rezs.. i swear square picks and chooses what they want to be broken *cough* warrior mains

That's a fair criticism. I wanted to keep the explanations relatively short and simple but it means that I have to skim over a lot. For savage content early clears (i.e. where we're at right now) I think dps contribution is often the most important thing jobs bring as dps checks are very tough! Hence paladin getting a lower score for example as it's a big differential

Appreciate the response. While I understand why DPS is a major factor for savage raiding and for, specifically, this tier list, those pots are easily tweaked by SE and DRK isn’t in a great place gameplay-wise. In raiding it feels the same as ShB - that’s the best thing that can be said about it. I don’t mind the video and would have appreciated it more if it was titled “… based on DPS on fflogs” - it’s not catchy but the vagueness currently insinuates more about the job: fun, depth, theme/lore adherence.

This tier list is close but currently monk is actually beating out reaper and dancer is way lower than both bard and even machinist, dancer belongs in C with Ninja. Also paladin should be C as well, too low dps compared to other tanks similar to dancer.

I'd take a look at thos playing reaper and dancer in those cases; might need to find people that hit rotations correctly. I haven't seen a monk out dps a reaper without dance partner in an actual raid.

The only time tank dps matters is in hard-core prog, which is a small percentage of the player base. Paladin brings good utility, and has 8 ranged GCDs when there's downtime. No way is paladin a C for having only 4ish% less dmg. This is one of the problems with how ff14 has designed tanking. They made the actual tanking part so easy, that's dps is what separates the 4 jobs now in a lot of people's eyes. If older WoW didn't anything good, it was the way tanking worked. No one cared about tank dps, because the tanks job was to hold threat (the whole premise of a tank), which could still be ripped off by a good dps popping all cooldowns, if the tank didn't know how to manage it. In 14 a tanks true job is so mind-numbingly easy, that dps is the only thing that can matter now.

Ninja's opening got changed after there changes with one of there main mechanics of how to utilize there forked and fleeting raiju plus the changes of bunshin towards there phantom. This seems too early to really do a tier list I say give it a month before you rate on peoples clears that are still VERY low

Yeah this list is reflecting those ninja changes in 6.05. The meta will change as people get more gear and learn fights etc but I think this list reflects stuff well as it stands right now :) and of course everything can change with the next tier of fights and balancing!

Best grp so far I would say is GNB DRK - RPR MNK RDM BRD - SCH AST. Buffs are needed for Ninja, Dancer, Machinist and Paladin, also arguably SMN needs something to distinguish itself because at the moment there is no reason not to prefer a RDM. Either another utility or better potency.

Think it's too earlier in savage to be including anything from there. This is especially true with the BLM vs RDM popularity which undoubtedly will swap as people get comfortable with the fights and those BLM numbers will rise a fair bit. Similar will likely happen with samurai as they are a bit more demanding on their rotation. I also wouldn't have dancer in B, they are a low C almost D tier atm. Their group utility is largely just more damage for the group and as you can see in logs even accounting for that they are significantly behind. I'd also say that the choice for tank might be correct for savage for the other 99% of the game it's not even comparable to warriors supremacy. Which is also why you see them being the #1 choice outside the final boss because basically the vast majority of the communities tanks are warriors unless force to switch, like on the last boss and honestly I think that's just a damage thing(and literally the only reason DRK has any players in the top end).

Well i dunno, BLM just feel lacking these days... the strongest rotation they got are extremely mobile(for a BLM, especially combined with so much clearcasting) but It's not interactive at all to play, not even for the smal dps gain and in dungeons their AoE rotation is really dull to say the least. SAM is also just a boring MNK or RPR atm. that have no other support to bring. I think the selfish DPS classes are underperforming(aswell as DNC)... SAM and BLM could use a slight buff and DNC either need to get a 2nd raid buff(or buff their partner more) and some more DPS to not be entierly outclassed by BRD. Thing is the buffs will be more powerfull as the expansion progress and if buff classes keep up to or even outperform the selfish dps:ers they will eventually start fall behind.

@@garettgarner MCH, BLM and SAM are usually considered "selfish-dps" since they don't really bring any rDPS to the raid. They are present in a group because of their DPS in a similar fashion as someone would play a carry in a MOBA. The raid/group are there to make sure these classes can perform at 110%. If you bring a BLM and don't try to facilitate it with favorable conditions you do things wrong aka. a DNC usually choose a SAM as dancepartner, the BLM/MCH get the ranged +dmg buff AST cards etc.

It's all personal preference, but this seems like a decent list to me. I honestly think I would put DNC in C tier with NIN, they're just so weak with no real benefit over MCH. PLD lags significantly behind the other tanks, but they do have a ranged uptime phase and hallowed ground. Personally, I'd put them in C, just because their damage is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the other tanks. Unlike most other comments (as of now), I agree with you in that GNB is the best tank -- they're comfy, they're strong, they're tanky. They are often outdone in damage by DRK, but DRK is not at all comfy and they feel way more squishy than GNB too.

Definitely agree about DNC, I feel they should be one step below MCH as they are now. Supposedly they're in line to get some buffs to their personal damage in 6.08, but right now they're the worst physical ranged of the three. That said, I do think they have the easiest gauge management of the three classes, and Curing Waltz and Improvisation do give them some more defensive utility than the other two classes. Some potency buffs should be enough to pull them out of C tier, but sadly we'll have to wait for the next patch to see how large these changes are.

It's cool down is 90 seconds. Dancer on the other hand has a multitude of utilities, dmg buffs, mitigation & group heals. So as far as job tier placement.. this is spot on.

Definitely. RDM's have good utility, that's the only reason they're so popular right now, Verraise is great for learning fights. But once everyone is used to the raids, I think it's popularity will drop significantly. BLM's raw damage is unmatched by any caster/ranged. One of the main reasons it was ranked so low is because they're sometimes forced to move due to mechanics which decreases their damage, usually though, a good BLM will still out-damage the other casters and ranged. It all depends on how much you value damage over utility. RDM also has good recovery, but arguably you shouldn't need to use RDM's recovery in a fight if you do well enough. Which is why I personally think it's unfair to give BLM a lower ranking due to focusing on DPS. RDM's good recovery can't save a raid if you fail a DPS check.

Pooling in Samurai with DRG is pretty wrong imo. DRG is still reliant on the rest of the party's performance without providing any prog benefits like Mantra or Arcane Crest. Samurai can pump similar rDPS as reaper and mnk by just having higher personal dps. Its mainly just that they dont have anything to help with prog.

I would argue that the tank damage is all close enough that I don’t think it is really the distinguishing factor in ranking them. In terms of being able to survive and mitigate damage which of course is the tanks primary purpose, I would say that WAR, PLD, and GNB are all neck and neck, maybe with a slight edge to WAR, and DRK would be bring up the rear by a little bit. They all get the job done though

What? Paladin is severely behind both GNB and WAR, which are considerably behind DRK. Tank damage is absolutely broken right now, which is why you see so many DRK tanks on the top teams. Best tanks + best healers = no need for tankiness overkill and go for more damage.

As a strictly dps raid tier list this is pretty close. In dungeons this tier list wouldn't be right. Best tank would be war because of all 3 roles in one and worst tank is dk. Dps melee is reaper and healer just depends. I've seen God tier sages and crap ones too.

And you can see expansion after expansion of bard and dancer flip flopping between bad and worst. War being god tier. Healers being nerfed ie Astrologian being strongest healer in Shadowbringer to being nerfed. And black mage and summoner being completely reworked with red mage making very little changes.

Agree with DRK but I'd even put it to S tier. I just started EW savages, using DRK tank. The damage is awesome, the mitigations are very useful to spread out and the low CD of blackest night is really helpful at double-tankbusters or if someone is too late running out from an AoE. Ofc it's just imo but I'm glad DRK is doing well!

As a dark knight main for years I had to drop it. Warrior is far too good at the moment. Dark needs a rework. Ya it's ok in Trials/raids but try pull wall to wall in casual content and you'll need a good healer.

Having dancer On the same line as anything else is so dumb. The utility they bring is worth nothing when bard brings similar kits. And their personal and relative dps does not hold up in any competitive environment. Yes. All classes are viable. But so shun ninja so low when they bring decent damage amazing raid cds is crazy. But have dancer so high for what? A defensive cd and dance partner?

Gunbreaker imo is a c tier pick. While it does good damage, and Holy conundrum is crazy op it’s so clunky now with the addition to continuation on burst strike, and then not extending their no mercy window while simultaneously adding another move you need to add to your burst.

Yes, my job is in the S tier (bard) 😀 Now I have to learn the whole spell rotation since I leaved the game for many months and I’m just coming back to the game 😅 But it’s comforting me that at the beginning, I made the right choice 👌🏻

We should never measure tanks by DPS. By far the weakest tank is Dark knight..bring one through a dungeon and compare to the other tanks and you will understand. Ironically is a good OT in hard content..but a no no for running roulettes.

Bruh, sch is definitely not S tier. Sage much better, the rest of your S rank are good. Scholar got used Hard in savage first week but most of them switched to SGE 1 week later

@tobalitos sage and sch is neck to neck. Fairy system is better than kardia. But Sage Eukrasian shields are better than Scholar. Expedient is a huge letdown and only help for progs. Sage has one of THE best gage system hands down. No clunkiness, no kit working against itself, just pure ogcd with short refresh and massive mitigation with big oh shet heals.

Playing DRK feels like a C-tier job aside from damage, RDM is S-tier just because of prog and insta-raise being extremely valuable, and BLM/SAM are very personal skill DPS jobs that only get better later in patches. I will say RPR is probably the most deserving of an S-tier. Everything about it from damage to personal gameplay is spot on for being the best job right now.

you have not played warrior then really? xD its survivability way outclasses any of the other tanks, dungeons you don't even need a healer for you can take 4 dps, and heal them too! also its bloodwhetting is a (bloodbath, Shield and 20% mitigation) on a 25 sec CD. I took less damage than my GB co tank and I am the main tank using my whole kit. so I Think mitigation is also best on Warrior. so yeah putting GB above War is kinda biased and wrong, only advantage it has is more damage really and thats it xD

When a tier list is done can it be done for how they perform in their roles please, rather than damage.............. When i play a tank i want to know what is the best TANK, not the best dps. WAR is easily S rank, and its by far the best tank currently, not just for raiding but for anything.

That's simply never been how FFXIV endgame content has been judged. Dps checks and enrages mean dps will always be the most important factor in any duty. The content is designed for any tank to be able to tank any content and any healer able to heal any content, with some wiggle room even in the endgame stuff. Low dps is always going to be the hardest thing to correct.

@@garrettwidner6915 This is VERY incorrect. What is never said, is that ALL jobs and ANY combination of all the jobs available can clear ANYTHING this game has to offer. This how the game has been designed. The community has created their own metas in a game where it really isn't important and quite frankly work against the good work the devs has done to avoid such situations. This game isn't WoW, don't trat it as such and be grateful you have a decently balanced game.

@@saindst Then why do you care about tier lists if you believe every job is equal? Go clear ultimate content or early release savage content with sub-optimal jobs and get back to me. High utility classes can pick up the slack and carry bad players.

@@garrettwidner6915 lol, the amount of healing the healers need to give other tanks, when with War they can just dps even through tank busters. means that War can live and keep going while healers can keep dpsing instead of healing your ass. their is a difference between personal dps and raid dps. and imo War is easy top of the tank pack as its self sustain is amazing (I recover 60k in 5 seconds and still have CDS to spare for the next busters) so remeber that big dick dps doesn't equal good classes that can clear content. and from my raid I am main tank but take less damage than my GB ot because of the dam defence on it, thats time the healers could be doing dps instead. but yeah WAR is easily top tank atm.

Tiers, tiers, tiers .... typical ex WoW player ... the thing us FFXIV-ers enjoyed for so long was the lack of tier convos, making the jobs (wow classes) much less competitive. Now with all these ex-wow hardcore players we're getting it here ... we don't want it. If you come over from WoW, you come into the spirit of our game, not all this competitiveness. I bet you're running illegal damage meters too ... go back to wow!
