I applaud their choice with LM, while I do agree it isn’t as nice as it was (which is the thematic point) I admire their guts to make that choice, they knew reception on this would be divisive but they did it anyway for the story, that takes some balls to do, respect.

It isn't permanent, but if you go into the zone and activate any MSQ New Game + it will be all pretty again.

it being this way is the whole point? its meant to convey the weight of the choice being made to players, characters die and we can get attached but we know they arent real and it doesn't end up effective how we interact with the game, but making the choice tie to essentially killing the area and forcing you to change how it looks makes Us feel that regret, and makes us want to enjoy it while we can through gposes, we can change it back through new game + and i think thats as far as we should be able to change it back for the sake of the message (not meant as aggressive, i just feel like the way they did this is important)
